~Brad~
Recently, Next Generation was able to get an interview with NaturalMotion's CEO Torsten Reil. One of the topics was the new "Drunk" apsect of the physics behaviour engine (Euphoria). He commented that this was a recent add-on to the game to give it an even more realistic experience when gamers play GTAIV through the eyes of Niko. Niko would react just like how any real life human reacts when a certain amount of alcohol is in their system. This is yet another area Members of the NaturalMotion's team explained how the engine worked: "Euphoria is a full AI and motion system that creates characters with fully simulated bodies, muscles and nervous systems. It integrates with existing physics middleware to create more realistic and completely procedural AI characters reactions that are never the same twice. As we were shown Bellic zigzagging down the sidewalk, we were told that his stupor would always be generated in real time and would always be unique. Reil assured us that this sort of animation would not have been possible on the PlayStation 2." The interviewers were also shown examples of the other games such as BackBreaker (football game) to reall let them understand the shear gravity of the realism of this engine. They also continued by discussing other newer engines they are currently working on. In the end, what does this mean for us? Well the team at R* have really planned to make this game as real as possible and are doing a fine job at that. Swifty
I really don't care if R* deliver the game late, when they are so dedicated to producing a game with such amazing features & details. They really have upped the steaks for this one & I think once again R* are going to set another president for other games manufacturers to follow.
