Milne
Hello there! How can I make a vehicle (the stratum GTASA vehicle if it makes any difference) spawn with a set colour? I have modded a srtatum police car mod with new textures I made, but the car (which replaces copcarla.) will spawn completely black if the car is not 1,1. For example the black and white normal police cars, with this mod installed the car is just completely black. But if the police cars (copcarla.) are spawning fully white (1,1) then the car mods work perfectly. So how can I make the mod override whatever coulour the copcarla. is? I have changed the "copcarla" in "carcols.dat" to "1,1" it still doesn't work. Here's some screenshots, this car spawns fully white without the mod reason why the mod works on it, but you can see fully black cars with the mod in the background that is the result of the normal police cars (or black police cars) with this mod: Please help! What do I have to do to get this mod to spawn fully white regardless of the copcarla's colour?
MrLlamaLlama
Find carcols.dat, and copy and pace everything after 'AMBULANCE' over everything after 'COPCARLA' Ambulances are totally white, so this SHOULD work. By the way, very nice work, got a download link so we can try it out?

I've had mods before which - regardless of what colours copcarla. spawns with they spawn with the SET colour of the model. Is it something to do with the model maybe? And there's no download just yet sorry, I want to sort this colours thing out first before releasing it! Edited May 9, 2008 by Milne
MrLlamaLlama
I re - read your first post, and i don't fully understand why you can't just change the line to 1,1...

I have changed the copcarla line to 1,1 but - regardless of that being changed - when copcarla's spawn on the server with anything other than 1,1 they will just show as complete black and not the proper mod textures... Milne
I got the .diff open in ZModeler2. I changed the carcol.dat copcarla back to the default 0,1. Normally the mod’s .diff textures material name look like this: remapstratum292body256 [prim, spec] remapstratum292body256 [prim, env, spec] And that makes the cars all black unless the vehicle spawns white then the mod will work. But if I open the .diff in ZModeler2 - leave everything as it is and export it again, the car will still be black BUT it will not have detail instead it’s just weirdly white. Why is this!? Changing both of the “prime” to “sec” like so in ZModeler2: remapstratum292body256 [sec, spec] remapstratum292body256 [sec, env, spec] Just makes the car completely white (not sure about if the car spawns white) BUT this also messes with the model it makes it all white and weird... And lastly I though about changing all the “prime” to “spec” ( I don’t know what spec stands for or what it does): remapstratum292body256 [spec, spec] remapstratum292body256 [spec, env, spec] and that actually makes the texture work but there's still that weird white crap like so: It's meant to be like this (bar the old texture on the hood/bonnet): How can I get rid of the stupid white crap and retain the detail? Why does that happen? Help!
