It could be file association from the pc that they where saved on from the C drive. I have never tried a 100% save install, so I don't know what files are involved, but I'm sure there are some key elements that are connected to the program files. It could also be that either the person uploading or downloading didn't or doesn't have a clean game copy. If there are any mods in there game or in your game this could be causing confusing in reading thus causing the crash. This is just a wild guess, this may have no effect but just trying to help.
