I've finally figured out what's causing most of my PC's problems

OK, so today I tried booting up iTunes to put some new music on my iPod I had just ripped off of a CD. I clicke don the shortcut, and nothing ever came up. Same thing was happening with Spybot, and a re-install fixed that, so I reinstalled iTunes. Same problem. So I tried installing it to my C:\ instead of my second HDD. Same problem. Also, whenever I go into My Computer and click on the J:\ (My Ipod) it just freezes. (This same problem has always been happening, but occasionally only failing when I tried transferring files) So then, while waiting for iTunes to boot and My Computer to unfreeze, I unplugged my iPod to listen to it since I was very bored indeed. BOOM, all of a sudden, My Computer unfroze, and iTunes instantly popped up.

So, iTunes and everything works fine now, providing the iPod is unplugged. If I plug it in while iTunes is running, it does nothing for about 4 seconds, then freezes, and of course, unfreezes as soon as I unplug the iPod.

Any ideas as to why THE FUCK this is happening? Oh yeah, and this is likely the cause of most, if not ALL the problems my PC has been having since I built it. I hasn't frozen or stuttered all day today since I unplugged the iPod, and remember that my iPod has been plugged in from when I first posted my newly built machine until I discovered this today.

Aside the point, I went to install Vista SP1 today, and although I can't remember ever installing it, it told me that SP1 was already installed.

Also, I don't know if I have iTunes 7 or 8. I downloaded the installer ~1 month ago. It says iTunes64installer.exe, but it installed to the ProgramFiles(x86) Folder. Why?

Any ideas as to why THE FUCK this is happening?

UPDATE: The Spybot UI won't load unless you first tell it to Search for Updates in the System Tray. Also I discovered that I can't boot iTunes and Spybot at the same time. :/

Well an obvious solution is to format your iPod, and you haven't seemed to mention that. Try to backup it somewhere and format it.

I can't, it makes 'My Computer' Freeze.

On second thought, I'll try diskmgmt.msc

EDIT: I'm gonna try it on my old PC as diskmgmt.msc doesn't recognize it and crashes.

Wait, is reformatting the disk gonna erase it's OS and all that? Can I get it back through iTunes if it starts working afterwards?

Wow, WTF, I didn't do anything at ALL to my iPod and now all of a sudden, iTunes and everything's working just fine.....

But to prevent further problems in the future I think I'll only plug it in when charging or syncing.....

On second thought, I am in a different USB port.... (This one's on the front of the Antec 900 rather than the back of the mobo)

That thing is in reverse for my pc.I have a BMW case, wid LED lights in front of it, it lights up when you turn the pc on.The front usb ports, don't work at all, except if im lucky.

Well I do already have 7 other things plugged into the back of the mobo, and they all work fine. Just that one port I guess.
