When i try to use the replacement mod i cant find the file in the san andreas file to replace it i need some help im not sure where to go?

Did you try .img? Also, the files which you extracted are they where you told them to.

What is the file you're trying to find?

If it is a .txd or a .dff then that is inside the tools/gta3.img file. You need a special tool to be able to edit that.

what tool is that... i wanted to mod the landstalker for

this but i couldnt extract the file from the gta3.img

To install that you need to:

1) extract the zip to get the dff/txd files and readme

2) backup landstal.txd +dff from gta3.img (or whatever they're called)

3) replace them with the new txd+dff

4) backup and replace the vehicle data in carcols/handling etc as it says in the readme

5) if there is collision data to replace, you need to use coleditor to edit the collision file or just use GGMM

The gta3.img file is an archive, like a zip, but its just a different format. You need a particular tool for working with it (IMG Tool) or you can use multi-purpose GTA tools (GGMM) to do everything for you (txd/dff/handling/collisions/carcols/mods/ide)

Step 1 uses WinZip, WinRAR or just Windows XP itself

Steps 2+3 use GGMM or IMG Tool

Step 4 just uses Notepad - be VERY careful with these files, and make sure you're replacing the right car (eg if the hummer is for the rancher or something, you need to replace the landstalker's data)
