  1. Yeah definitely. You're main place could be based on what kind of gang you have. If you're in the Mafia, you should probably have some big Godfather-style mansion. If you're in the Russian Mob (who, from my GTA4 Gang Ideas post, it appears, everybody hates...), you'd probably have some kind of well-guarded warehouse in the Docks district, and like I said, the Grove Street-type gangs would have the big run-down mansion. Yakuza could have a casino (though that might be too reminiscent of Kenji, Woozie, etc.), and maybe there could be some kind of drug cartel that has a giant crack factory. I don't know...maybe I'm stealing too much away from the other GTA's... I'm sure people are gonna' have some fightin' words about this...
  2. I'm so tired of people saying that GTA4 should be GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas together on one map! That would be, without a doubt, the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Anyone who says that is a dumbf**k. GTA4 is going to be innovative, original, and, without a doubt, motherf**king mindblowing. It is NOT going to be a showcase for R* to show off old games on new hardware.
  3. Ugh. I have annoying habit of not reading the actual replies of the other users, and just skipping ahead to give my own response to the topic question. So please let me know if I happen to be nowhere near what we're talking about right now... I'd like there to be a oil gauge, or, as everyone's calling it "petrol meter" (how sophisticated!) in the car, but then I look back and realize that it would basically be to cars what the hunger thing in San Andreas was to the character. It would be too limiting, no matter how much gas you could give the vehicle. GTA is meant to be realistic, sure, but I wouldn't like it bringing in the negative things about reality. What's next? Is everyone gonna' ask that you have a "find the TV remote" minigame or a "flush the toilet" mission?
  4. Ugh. Sorry to be such a compulsive poster, but I've been play San Andreas for a good eight hours now and ideas just keep popping into my head... Here's my ideas: *Instead of pre-selected properties being available for purchase, the game should have houses constantly being bought and sold. For instance, let's say you take over a territory and allow crack dealers and prostitutes to infest the neighborhood. The property value should plummet, and houses will become for sale in the area. The homes can either then be bought by you or eventually they will either be purchased or fall into disrepair. Alternately, you could buy the homes, then clean up the neighborhood and then sell the homes for more than the buying price. *I think that their should be a maximum amount of homes that you can own at any one time in GTA4. Considering that there were 32 properties availible in the game, I think that the total number you can own should be about 60, which accounts for not only the assorted safe-houses you buy, the places you automatically get from mission progress, but also the random properties you buy as a real-estate tycoon. *Not that this necessarily fits with the topic, but it is MY topic, so I'll say it: I'd like for their to be some kind of gang fortress place you get during the game. Somewhat reminiscent of Big Smoke's Crack Fortress in San Andreas and the decrepit mansions found on Prawn Island in Vice City...some kind of large, rich-looking house, but completely covered in graffiti. It would have large, concrete walls, and many gang members wandering the halls. Like Vercetti Mansion, but way, way, waaay much more to do there. Please criticize me for these, and tell me how dumb they are. (Actually, I want tons and tons of praise, but now if you criticize me, you look dumb...)
  5. Yeah, supernatural/paranormal stuff would be cool. It definitely shouldn't be too 'close' to the main game, as that would take away from the sense that the GTA world is a realistic place. (For instance, it shouldn't be possible to see any of them until after the game is beaten.) But I just thought of some cool stuff. As the next GTA will probably have side-missions from here to Pluto, they should have a special, uh, not 'minigame', but certain events (UFO in the sky, Bigfoot sighting, etc.) being caught on camera (maybe the game will have a video camera in it so you can record funny things on the street, or have your gang members film you...) can be sold to a newspaper or TV station or to a group of crazy conspiracy theorists, keeping with the tradition of wackos like The Truth. I don't know if any elements of these will make it into the next game, but something similar to this would, in my opinion, be a definite upgrade for the game. I have a habit of including way to many parenthesized sentences. Sorry.
  6. Please don't get pissed at me if this was already somewhere on the forums. I sure didn't see it. What kind of gang would you like to see in the next GTA? Include title, number of members, what their "business" is (i.e., robbery, gun smuggling, protection, etc.), who their leader is, what part of the city they control (the docks, Chinatown, Little Italy, those kind of things...), and what their 'uniform' is.
  7. I'd like to see some kind of Rambo/Guerrilla-style military dude. I have a hard time explaining crap like this, so I'll let the categories speak for themselves... Skin: Hispanic Hair: Black, extending about 2" below his ears. Eyes: Blue/Sunglasses Torso: Jungle Camo, with a bandolier from his left shoulder to his right hip. Lower Body: Olive-colored pants Shoes:Sturdy but well-worn black Army boots Location: Havana Weapon: A high-capacity AK-47, like the kind used in that movie 44 Minutes. Vehicle: Humvee w/ Camo net deployed by pressing R3
