What about GTA 3, SA and Liberty City Stories?

Does anybody know what year each GTA game is based on. Obviously Vice City is 1980's and Vice City Stories is 1984. But which is before which? Cheers for your help.

Like someone said before in this thread i think i would be cool to decide what your gang wears and what guns they use etc. That would be a awesome feature.

Mabye you could make it so you walk close to the person ur gunna rob and press Triangle and rob them without them even realising. and if they do notice then you can start a fight... make it a bit more intresting like.
