For the portable, you should have USB support so you connect to your computer & transfer it form there. Playing it is only a matter of having it in a format your portable supports, (like .AVI) etc. On your PC, just click the file you want to watch & your default player should open & start it for you. If not, look for your player online & check for updated CODECs. If you don't like your default player, right click & select OPEN WITH option. it should pull up several to choose from (new software often comes w/ players). If you like that one, repeat the "OPEN WITH" step & this time check the box at the bottom of the list that says "ALWAYS USE THE SELECTED PROGRAM TO OPEN THIS KIND OF FILE" option Either way, hope this pits you on the right track.
