I'm in the US & need to send 50 meg of pics to Australia, what's a good file hosting site to use?

www.rapidshare.com

Fast, but it takes some time until the download starts. Also if the person you want to send it to has just downloaded from rapidshare they'll have to wait.

www.megaupload.com is good too.

Sorry no URL's as this is massive copypasta but most of these are all .com, or just google them. All of them have different limits on stuff. Rapidshit is obviously the one everyone knows and is most reliable, as well as MegaUpload.

MediaFire is a good alternative too, looking at that list. YouSendIt too.

I guess you're sending 1 big zip/rar but if they're all photos why not get an account on flickr or zooomr or something, or even just photobucket I think has albums and stuff now.

Didn't know Photobucket could do large RARs, I already use them for individual pics. Got it uploading on RapidShare

right now.

I'm still pretty new at some of this, but depending on how serious I get making mods an account might not be a bad

idea.

Maybe a directory of file hosts could be made & pinned, what do you think?

It can't do rar's I don't think I was just suggesting you could mass upload all the pics you want at once.

For example on flickr's uploader, you could just browse to the folder, select all, and click upload... anyway you've done it now so no worries.

Yeah we should probably use a table to display all that data and put all the filesize limits and stuff. Thing is I'm not sure how much it would be used by people here. We're not a warez community or porn forums (guessing the sort of sites that use them most).

Good point, some idiot grandmother from New Jersey will probably want to drag you into court over it because she was

too busy watching Oprah to pay attention to what her grandkids were doing w/ the new laptop she bought them.

Anyway, thanks for taking a minute, I think I got it sorted. Just have to wait for other end to wake up & confirm he got it.
