car paint job help

i got TXD editor IMG tool GIMP photo editor im pretty good with mods

so you dont have to explain that stuff

but how do i put in the texture in txd editor do i make somthing new or somthing

Use the IMG tool to switch the files.

i wanna make paint jobs for cars that dont already have paint jobs for like a saber for instance

You need to edit the carmods.dat so the game thinks there's another file to look for, and the the car can be modded with another 'job. Then, you need to create the paintjob, convert it to .txd and load it into the IMG file.

A few of us have been messing w/ this, limited success. Some of the cars just can't be "painted" because of the way

the model is mapped (I think in the DFF part of the model). The Bandito can be added & takes hydraulics, nitrous & wheels

but won't accept colors. The same w/ the Hotknife & it won't show paintjobs either. I'm currently working w/ some of the

smarter members on this.

There's a Transfender mod that adds a lot of cars to TF, but some just won't work. Boats, Planes & Police Vehicles are

barred in the MAIN.SCR file.

The bikes can all be added but hydraulics won't work & if you add nitrous you crash the game. They can all be painted

at least one color.
