Thomas.
Japan is indeed getting Grand Theft Auto IV, and sources say it will be this year. Here is the full story by Kotaku: Japan hasn't been so lucky with Grand Theft Auto releases. Either the games come years later, heavily censored or both. Well, this time is different. Today, Capcom announced it is bringing a localized version of the multi-platform title Grand Theft IV to The Land of the Rising Sun sometime this year. Though, we're pretty sure CERO (Japan's ESRB) will censor it pretty heavily. Japan doesn't take kindly to random human killing! NotYouHaha
I thought GTA IV was coming out on April 29 worldwide? Perhaps that 'worldwide' had exceptions?
Thomas.
I thought GTA IV was coming out on April 29 worldwide?Perhaps that 'worldwide' had exceptions? Well sometimes there are indeed exceptions and I believe Japan takes a few more months (Usually 6 - 12) for a game to come out there.
NotYouHaha
Yes, and when a Japan developed game comes out in Japan (eg. Super Smash Bros Brawl), it takes a few months (like you said) for it to come to the rest of the world. But that's probably because of translation, right? Probably only subtitles, menu, options, and etc are translated for GTAs. I don't think they translate voices (I'm assuming). I think that explains it, right? So, if I'm correct, China would be another exception, if GTAs even come out there. Edited April 23, 2008 by NotYouHaha
Thomas.
Right now we know nothing about China, so if I find some news about China, I'll post it.
