WRX22B1998
Ok recently we got a new surround sound system, with a Pioneer VSX-917V reciever. Anyways, the remote was supposedly on the lounge, and fell off. Now it will light up or whatever when you press a button, but it wont transmit anything, cant put volume up/down, change source, turn off/on. Any ideas what the problem could be. It's not batteries, cos the little LCD display says stuff when u push a button. I'm thinking I will probably have to order a new remote from Pioneer or something, unless its covered by warranty, which I suppose it is. MrLlamaLlama
Probably dislodged a connection to the IR sending thingy. Don't open it up or anything, you'll void the warranty. Just call up and say it's faulty.
WRX22B1998
yeah the ir thing on the top can sorta move back and forward. lol of course not. well we got it in like may this year, so its definitely under warranty. yeah thats what i was thinking. just sent them a email, saying that the remote doesnt work
EvoLuTioN
Just for the heck of it try moving your cell phone camera on top of the IR led thingy while pressing any button on the remote, If Red dot flashes on the Cell phone screen then your IR is fine! WRX22B1998
lol well my dad being who he is, took the remote apart, and found that the ir transmitter thingamajig isnt attached to the rest of the pcb (like became unsoldered or whatever)... so i think he is gonna take it to a repair shop nearby. lol. btw evolution thats a nice trick / idea i just tested with my stereo remote. it was white though... EvoLuTioN
Funny, Works for me, Its has to be a Ir remote. Its not really hard to fix that if the Pin is loose, Just solder it back to the chip.
