Spaz The Great
Need some Half-Life help. Original game. Just started playing((well, not really, cause I've not been able to play it in a while)). The game disk was version 1.0.0.9, I THINK. Or might've been 1.0.0.1.... Anyways, I patched it((after finally finding some patches still online)), with version 1.1.1.9, I think..... Anyways... Wouldn't work after that. I tried everything. Auto-patching with the program that came with it, I downloaded a few other manual patches, 2-3 other auto programs I found on the net. Nothing. Can't play.... The reason we tried patching in the first place was because we couldn't play on a lan together((two PCs)). Is there a block on the same game playing with each other? We have separate keys.
DeAtH
I think there was separate exe for multiplayer, not sure though.
Spaz The Great
No, it's all in the main menu. We can create our own lan-game((or could, but now we can't play at all)), but we couldn't join each other's game.
chris82
I don't know, I have always used the Steam version. Try registering the CD KEY on Steam.
Spaz The Great
However, my initial problem is now a secondary problem, because I can't even play the game. Might you know ANYWAY I can fix it without a reinstall?
chris82
Try re-applying the latest patch?
Spaz The Great
See, I don't even know what the latest patch is. Can't find any info anywhere. The newest I could find was 1.1.1.9, and that was the one that messed it up to begin with. Fucking blows that you can't get support for good games. chris82
Yeah that happened when Sierra got all butthurt because Steam is awesome. I'd say buy it on Steam due to the low price but then you'd have to buy it twice. Sorry I can't help more.
Spaz The Great
Apparently uninstalling doesn't get rid of your saved games, so I reinstalled, and it works now. Now we just have to get the multiplayer working.
