_Ray
Uh, yes. But I found it rather funny that you called it an overclock. Instead, it's a CPU with the same architecture, but set with a higher multiplier. An overclock is when it's running at a higher frequency than a stock model. Difference also being that a slower model will simply lack a higher multiplier option. So it really is a different product. True. Yeah, the Q9550 lacks a 9.0 option, but it really is basically the same processor. And besides, the Q9550 is overclockable just about as far as the Q9650. Maybe if the difference was only $25 or 30, it might be OK. But charging almost $100 extra for a higher multiplier sounds like shitty marketing to me. My main point is that why pay an extra $70 for 0.17 extra GHz Clock Speed. If someone could pay that money, then they should go i7. The Q9550 is already really expensive as it is, and easily OC-able to well-over 3.0GHz. Edited February 14, 2009 by raybob95
Pandora
Yeah, the Q9550 lacks a 9.0 option, but it really is the exact same processor. Architecture. Different CPU, same architecture. Oh, and you're right in nog going for a Q9650. Those things aren't worth the money at all. Just thought calling it overclocked was funny. That's all. Correction for before: "The Q9650 is simply a Q9550 with a raised multiplier."
