Masked Marauder Posted March 2, 2011 Share Posted March 2, 2011 Mods may cause that problem, especially if they add objects to the game. The game saves object locations in all save files. If the number of objects in the game is changed, and then a previous save file is loaded, the engine can't make sense of it all and may make a "best guess" on where to start; if it does not just crash or lock up instead.
