Blueyes80513
Hey guys, I know you really probably don't want to be helping a noob, but i just bought my copy of GTA:SA and want to download some mods from your website. As I said, i know you don't want to be helping noobs, but i am a total noob at downloading mods, i've never done it before, and don't know the first thing about it. Could you give me some Instructions as I've already been all over the net and sadly cant find any tutorials. I just want to get some mods, Please help!! Thanks, William P.S. BTW, here are a few of the mods i want to download, just so you know. - http://www.thegtaplace.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=696 - Some of the Vehicle Mods, - http://www.thegtaplace.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=590 - http://www.thegtaplace.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1032 Edited November 13, 2005 by Blueyes80513
Sabin
The sad thing is the read me files that come with mods sometimes are hard to understand for noobs. so you'll have to learn by yourself threw trail and error. GO here for some help this forums is the best place I know of for information on mods and is also home to the gta modding community----> www.gtaforums.com but can I give you some advice since your a noob I recommend not trying to install map mods right off the bat becuase there the hardest to learn to install and are the ones that have the most chance to cause errors. start off by changing weapons and building skins. Here's a tip: just back-up the gta3.img before you do anything with the file, so you can just easily reinstall the default cars if anything goes wrong... There's also another way to backup the files individually, instead the whole archive, but it won't be easy for newbies. You also need the IMG Opener, there's one in the site's TOOLS For Modding section. 1. Extract the vehicle's models (txd, dff) into a folder. 2. In the mod's readme file, there should be something that says which car/vehicle will be replaced. 3. Assuming the name is infernus, find the infernus.txd, and infernus.dff (depending on waht the readme says), and delete them! THIS IS WHY BACKING-UP IS VERY IMPORTANT... 4. And then, ADD the infernus.txd and infernus.dff (ONE-BY-ONE). When you click on the Commands Tab, Add, there will be a window that pops up. Just find your infernus.txd, and infernus.dff. AND ADD THEM ONE-BY-ONE. If you want to uninstall the car models, you need to (easiest way) to copy the (fresh) gta3.img again and delete/rename the modded one. Rename the Copy of gta3.img into gta3.img. That's the easiest way for me. Edited November 14, 2005 by C.O.D

It has already been done, But for many it is consider WAREZ so it's a dead topic, noone wants to discuss it anywhere? but in theory it is almost 99.9% moddable. 4 files will make it equal but without the HC. E-bay is your best bet go and get the 1.0 version original and mod your heart out. P.s. Trainers do work but again that's a whole new story. No here is a downgrader wich will change your game from v2 to v1. This is all you need to make mods work. http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15151 Also there is a handy tool you download that will install cars for you.
