Chris Posted August 7, 2006 Share Posted August 7, 2006 That's when those particular search engine 'spiders' are 'crawling' the site and indexing the pages. Basically, a spider crawls the website, finds updated pages, retrieves the data and stores it in a massive database(s) and indexes it. Then when a user types in some keywords, results are shown to you in the form of links to web pages which contain those keywords. You could probably head on over to wikipedia to find out how search engine spiders work if you're actually interested, or if my very brief overview will suffice then you can carry on posting as normal Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
