What do you guys think about the OnLive service? For who haven't heard about it, Its a new service unveiled at GDC 09 yesterday. This service basically streams the Video/Audio content of the games from the OnLive servers and databases instead of playing it of the Console/Pc hard drive or disks. There is no more any need for PC upgrades, etc since all of the work is done on the data centers. It just requires a high speed broadband connection and a tiny console for running it on the Tv.

It is already supported by Atari, Codemasters, Electronic Arts, Eidos, Epic Games,THQ, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Games would launch in the same "release window" as retail, says OnLive COO Steve Perlman. "There's no physical media.

It's an all-digital platform. You never need to upgrade your equipment at home.

I like the current way of playing games, its going to be a pain if people have limited net bandwidth/slow speed or No internet at all :/ Maybe a good deal for those with weaker Pc's. The pricing is not yet announced but it will be available in different packages.

Why would you want to run it over Hamachi? Its virtual Lan. SA-MP has no LAN support. If you want a private server you could just download the SAMP server client and run it on your computer and get your friends to connect to it.

I played on MTA for about a week on a 64lbps line, Didn't have much of a lagg. There are the occasional timeouts but it shouldn't bother you too much.

It bothers me massively. I'm not sure why, but my ping seems steady at around 300 (as it ordinarily does with high speed... strange huh?) but whenever I attempt to join the game I get stuck at the black screen for ages, and then when the map finally appears and I select where I want to spawn, a get stuck in the air for a good 10 minutes before I finally spawn, and then I time out. It's shit.

Mine's about 250ish, If I'm updating shit it goes upto 300-320. I've been getting that stuck in the air problem recently, I just reconnect and it works fine. The black screen is probably due to the slow connection, I used to get that too.

Okay I'm just a noob with this technology stuff but how can you know your download limit?

Hehe, well over here in crazy Australia it was night time.

As for the sledging vid... That shit was hard. Every time I hit the hydraulics it would just run into the nearest wall.. or I'd roll the wrong way. What a pain in the arse.

Its not that hard you just have to go to the steep slope on top and keep the hydraulics/upgrades window open. We require three or more people to try out sledging races. The monster always starts rolling away when trying to start the countdown.
