hunter88888
All right, so my friend has a Gateway laptor, whose specs are above the required ones for SA, and so I convinced to buy the game and now whenever he plays it words and letter flash at places for a fraction of a second. We tried re-installing it, but no change. Any suggestions? Anyone encountered this before? P.S. I'm speaking for him since he has no internet. DemonDelight
it might be what your running the game under, such as open gl direct 3d, etc. if you or your freind know how, try changing the graffics properties around to work with the pc's specs. You might be able to go into the program files folder where the game is to do this, im not sure, because i dont have sa for pc. if you right click on the shortcut, go to properties, and try adding "-opengl" to the end of the target space Edited January 3, 2008 by gtaraider
hunter88888
Tried the graphics (changing), when we saw the problem, but no difference...
MrLlamaLlama
The most common cause of this is usually Vista. If he's running vista, then he might need a more powerful system to cope with running both the OS and San Andreas. Also, are you running any trainers / spawners / conroller configuration programs in the background... That can sometimes cause this.
hunter88888
Nope, no trainers, but yes to Vista, fortunately he's getting an Alieanware laptop sometime this year, so Vista won't pose a problem, but 'till then... feel kinda guilty for making him buy it...
