This is the first time i've been through a forum awards, so can I have details on how I would be in the running? Maybe I could pass for best noob by making this topic...

We have a nominations topic first of all, which I'll make either later on tonight, or sometime in the next couple of days.

In that topic everyone nominates one member for each award (you can't nominate yourself).

We leave the topic open for a week or two to make sure everyone who wants to has their opportunity to nominate.

After this I make a poll for each award, with the options being each member who has been nominated. Everyone votes in these polls over another 1-2 week period and then the forum is hidden away. We then award the winners the week after, usually mid-late January.

It will of course be explained in the nominations topics. However these people didn't know that was going to happen, so they weren't sure if they had to do anything now. But if you wait until the nominations are open, all will be revealed.

Thanks for explaining that Chris.

I'm not exactly known, despite all my posts, so I guess the forum awards are just gonna pass me by. I actually started on these forums thinking I could build up to those mysterious forum awards at the bottom so I could have a chance at 'em. I had no idea these were nominations.

Not to be an ass but I think anyone who asks to be nominated shouldn't get a nomination.

The awards are for people who get noticed for whatever category they are nominated for by their fellow members. If you haven't been nominated, it's because you've done nothing to actually get nominated and it's stupid to try to get people to put you up for an award just because you asked.
