WRX22B1998
whats your budget ? ive been keeping an eye on pc prices of a pc i wanted to build like maybe around xmas, dunno if i'd get that then since i7 is out etc but yeah... http://wrx.22b.sti.googlepages.com/pc.txt have a look at that. those prices are all in AUD (australian dollars). also note that doesnt include a monitor, but case is included in that. so you could take that out. depending on your case you might not be able to get certain video cards because of their length. so i took the price of the case out and works out to be ... 828 Australian dollars = 403.096007 British pounds

Pandora
Beh, the hell with Toms Hardware... I hate every single person there. Ok, maybe not. But I just don't like them.. they really have about the most dumbed down tech-people ever on a tech-site. But then that's my opinion... Anyway, these smaller sites are better IMO. Anandtech might be of greater help, but I rarely visit their site though...
Chris
Agree with Jace. Although you didn't get much of a response here (seems our main techy people missed this) it's probably better just to ask advice from users on forums you frequent. Then again you never followed up with another reply so we don't know what you're doing
WRX22B1998
i said this in another similar thread though, have a look at this http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/?tag=rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs_boxes its an aussie site but theres a lot of stuff on there, updated often. gives you a good idea of what you can/should get for your budget whatever it is. what to buy if you just won the lotto XD Edited July 11, 2009 by WRX22B1998
Pandora
Oh, a little note to that. It doesn't mean their guides aren't good or anything. It's just their forums that.. well, all I can think of when I view them is "Meh". But now and then they do have good articles.
