Well Adobe Reader is bloated as fuck, and sucks. And you're probably getting permission denied errors since Adobe processes are still running (unless you managed to use all three of your brain cells to disable them).

EDIT: Never mind. Disregard that... you could have posted the description as well so we knew wtf you were trying to do. But now it seems you regretted the decision to show us all anyway :/

Why are you trying to delete those 2 particular files?

Had you used your 1 brain cell you would have seen that it was a backup, and that BACKUP of the program was certainly no longer running.

Well I don't think it's "idiot proofing"

These are "leftover" files from a previous installation of Windows? In that case, the permissions on those files will be set to the users on that installation (which obviously don't exist anymore).

So you simply need to take ownership of the files. Select the files (or the folder they're in), go to properties, permissions, advanced, ownership. Set the owner as you (or "Administrators"), and make sure it applies to all the subfolders. Save and then you can delete them.

It's simple permissions and security, no need to stress. Likewise if someone doesn't read the entire youtube page, no need to be a dick about it.
