Youngie1337
Refering back to my original topic here I've been trying to play GTA3 and GTA Vice City for awhile now, this is the fix that I've found. I tried all of the other fixes such as: Compatibility mode Deleting the .set file Reinstalling Registry fixes Defragging Scan disc Seperate applications (3D Analalyze) etc... I managed to find a solution to the problem. Here it is: Go to Start and choose Run, type this: regsvr32 /u mpeg2decfilter.ax Download and install ffdshow: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/ Now when you load up GTA 3 or GTA Vice City you will be able to change the resolution and play the game without any crashes:). Please sticky if this helped. Works fine! Edited February 10, 2010 by Youngie1337

Youngie1337
This works for the resolution problem, I do not know if it fixes the other errors. This update should also work for Vista and Windows7. The reason I linked to that one is because it worked for me, I haven't tried the latest version, this worked so... Trexon
i think my unhandled exception is due to a mod that wasnt installed right. is there a fix for that, or do i have to uninstall all my mods and see which one it is that is causing the problem? thanks Trexon
Gerard
You should post this in the Modding subforum for whichever game this is. But yes, the only way to do it is to uninstall mods one-by-one, or in groups, or all of them, to narrow it down to whichever one is causing the problem. If it's a GTA 3 era game (such as III, VC, SA) then you could look at the GTA3.img file to see whether any of the DFFs/TXDs you modded are wrongly named or missing. You should always backup any files you edit BEFORE you mod; and test after every mod you install. That way you can quickly fix any problem.
