NickS
Hey guys, this pop up thing keeps popping up and saying that I gotta run the chkdsk utility everytime I open Opera or Limewire or IE. I've already done it twice but it only fixed Limewire up. What else should I do? Run the damn chkdsk utility again? Damjan
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\Session Manager Find that in registry(cmd>regedit, or if you have vista/above just type in regedit when you open the start menu.) Find BootExecute. Change the value to: autocheck autochk /k:c * Or whatever letter is your hard drive.
WRX22B1998
set it to run before startup, so go to command prompt (run > cmd) then type chkdsk c: /f it should say it cant dismount the volume, thats fine because windows is running off it. it'll do it next time you restart. that message is popping up because you have some corrupt files. how old is that computer? maybe the hard disk is having problems? _Ray
To check and see if you have HD problems, get HD Tune and check your smart values. If you're not sure how to read them then either google it or just post them here.

_Ray
I actually meant for you to click on the Health tab in HD Tune so that I could check your smart values. P.S., based on the picture you sent, that hard drive is slow as crap.
NickS
@Raybob Really? Do you know how I can get it to go a bit more faster?

NickS
Buy a new one lol. Jeezes, and here I am trying to scrape enough money to get a new one just for myself (which might take a few years) if that's the only option, then I'm stuck with it. Alvas.
As long as you think you are doing fine with your hard drive, no need for a new one. Just a stupid program with some graphs or measures shouldn't really bother you much. Edited March 17, 2010 by Alvas.
Damjan
Those measures are fucking speeds, like a 2GB file would take like 10-15 mins to copy on that hard drive. Edited March 17, 2010 by Sтεαм.
