The Bossman
So I'm looking into getting a new gaming headset, because my PX21s suck at locating where the enemies are hiding and what direction they're running at me from. The build quality is also terrible. I noticed the Tritton AX Pro headset on Amazon for £130, 5.1 surround sound, and all the reviews are unbelievably positive. I just need to know whether or not they offer pure 5.1 surround sound, so you can hear EXACTLY where the footsteps and bullets etc are coming from. I have leftover cash from my recent Vegas trip, and if I get decent replies here about the headset, I'll put the cash towards it and order them. I just need advice on whether or not it's worth buying them, from someone who owns a pair themselves. Here they are - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tritton-AX-Pro-Precision-Surround/dp/B0017IUFAE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1299982226&sr=8-1 Edited March 13, 2011 by The Bossman
MrLlamaLlama
You REALLY don't need to spend that on a good headset. http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/1978602/art/Product.html?srcid=369 This is the headset I'm currently using and it's nothing less than utterly fantastic. Uses Audio jacks so it's driverless, 100 5* reviews on Amazon, does offer TRUE 5.1 surround and is extremely good in picking up those footsteps in both CoD and CSS. By all means go al, out, but i can't help thinking for £103 less you can have a perfectly good headset that has everything you're looking for. If you do want to splash out however, http://www.sendit.com/computing/webcams-headsets/razer-carcharias-gaming-headset/10054936.html This headset has excellent reviews aswell, and still makes you a saving of just under £60. The Bossman
If they work for PS3, then great, but it only says PC and Mac. The 2nd one sounds good, but then so do several other ones I look at while randomly searching for a good pair.
