Can't uninstall mod with Sami!

Hello!

Searched the forums but couldn't find any answer...

The gist of it:

- I installed a car mod with Sami (Chevrolet replacing Yosemite)

- Went to uninstall with Sami, got an error (see attached)

- Rebooted PC

- Opened Sami back up, Sami says the uninstall of the mod was successful

- Close Sami, open up SA to see

- Mod is still there

- Open up Sami, mod is back as an uninstall option

- Try to uninstall, get same error from before

- Now have the same problem with a Ford Expedition that has replaced the Huntley

- Basically stuck with mods that I don't want in the game

- I want to uninstall them because I don't like how they look

Any ideas?

I never used SAMI for installing mods, primarily for that very reason. If you have copies of the original DFFs and TXDs somewhere I would try using IMGTool or something similar to restore them to the IMG archive manually. If you do not have any copies, or SAMI did not create any copies (I would think that it would have to somewhere in order to uninstall - maybe that is the problem), then try searching the net to find some. If you can not find any, then maybe somebody can send them to you. Hope this helps.

Best not to install vehicle mods with SAMI.

Relating to your problem, I can only think of 3 explanations:

1. You deleted the backup folder.

2. SAMI did not create backups at all, probably a Windows 7 compatibility problem. (this is most likely, since SAMI wasn't made for Windows 7) (SAMI didn't run great on XP ether).

3. SAMI did create backups but can't use them, for the same reason.

How to revert vehicles back to normal:

1st option, reinstall GTA SA.

2nd option, look in the backup folder and install the backed up / original files just like you would install a mod (but without SAMI, if that wasn't obvious ).

How to avoid this in the future:

Don't install mods
