Steven
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_3270764 He printed out his own barcode and slapped it on an iPod box so it would ring up for $4.99. Pretty smart guy.

Chris
That shouldn't work because surely the bar code would bring up the name of the item it was originally from and they would spot the error immediately and arrest you and stuff

Steven
yea most of the time when I go to stores they just ring it up then pass to the next item. Completly ignoreing the name and price. But this doesn't mean you should try to do this. Edited December 3, 2005 by Steven
Righty
Before I would have said its impossible, not from a technology standpoint, but just any compitent cashier would notice if an Ipod was that cheap.

Denise Robinson
At least make it less noticable and take off $20 or something... Yeah exactly, I used to work in a shop as a cashier and even if it doesnt look like they are looking at your purchases, they are. Im amazed that he even bought it for that price! I mean, can you imagine? " yup, nice ipod, that'll be $4.99 please..."
