K064AS
Okay, I'm new to this forum, so first, hello to all. I've recently bought GTASA for my PC. I've downloaded the Bigfoot skin by Bigleos I went to replace the .txd file. But I don't have one. I did the full install but none of the auto's .txd's are there. It's also says in the read me to open the IMG tool or ultimate editor. I don't know what that is. I did download from the tools section a SA mod installer. But when I tried to do that, it said that that mod is not compatible with the mod installer. What can I do to make this work? Thanks never mind, I guess I should do some searching before asking you guys. I found the Img tool and found the monsterb.txd, I backed it up and replaced it. Right? Thanks okay so now I've figured out how to do it all but it freezes up when the game tries to load. I backup the file put in the new one. It freezes. I go back delete the new file reinstall the backup and it still freezes. What is going on? What am I doing wrong? I've reinstalled the game 3 times now. Is there a trick to doing this. Here is exactly what I'm doing I open the IMG tool. Open the GTA3 files find the monsterb.txd extract it to my docs, rename it as backup add the new file that I downloaded monsterb.txd. try to play and it freezes. I go back to IMG tool. Delete the new one and bring the backup in. Still freezes. Then I save the player.img and reinstall the game HELP
chris82
Yeah, don't use the mod installer. Instead, get IMG Tool from here. Then open it and use it to open gta3.img which is usually located in C:/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas/models. Press F2 and search for monsterb.txd. Rename it to monsterb_old.txd (incase you want to go back if you don't like the new one). Unzip the new monsterb.txd that you downloaded to somewhere. In IMG Tool click Command>Add and find the file you just unzipped. Double-click to add it. Start up SA and find a monster truck.
K064AS
That's exactly what I did, and it freezes up on me when I try to load my saved game.

C.O.D
If you're sure 100% positive that you did it right, then it's not you, it's the texture file you downloaded.

chris82
Player.img has nothing at all to do with this. You're installing a skin for a truck, not CJ. Ok, so here, I'll give you a picture tutorial. First, open the zip file and extract monsterb.txd to the desktop Then open IMG Tool 2.0 and use it to open gta3.img in GTA San Andreas/models Press F2, type monsterb.txd press OK Next, within IMG Tool, rename monsterb.txd to monsterb_old.txd Finally, in IMG Tool, click Command, then Add, find the monsterb.txd you extracted on your desktop, and add it. K064AS
I swear that is what I'm doing. Then when I go to load the game I get to start game, new game, options screen. I hit start game, click on my file and it starts loading. About half way through the loading the bar on the bottom just freezes. Could my version of GTA (2.0) have anything to do with it. Is there a patch to allow for these downloads or something. The only thing I was saying about the player file is that I was saving it before I reinstalled the game. Just gee wiz stuff. That way someone didn't ask if I saved it before uninstalling. I understand it has nothing to do with my problem. okay I downloaded a patch for 1.0, i figured what the hell, well of course it doesn't work. I read some of the fixes it has for the 1.0 and it some stuff I need. Like the car engine audio muting when it's raining. Is there a patch for the 2.0 version?
