  1. Isn't there already a mod that has an elevated highway going all over san andreas? I'm sure I saw that when looking at mods.
  2. What I think is disrespectful is that they tried to take away mods from thousands of people who bought GTA SA expecting the regular game. The only reason they even made the version 2 was because they got bad press from the Hot Coffee thing. Downgrading so you can have more fun with the game is not disrespectful. You did give them your money for the game. P.S. If the downgrader isn't working try it on a freshly installed san andreas. If you have mods you wanna save just back them up before-hand.
  3. Why won't it let you uninstall???? If you really just don't want to uninstall because you'll lose your mods then just move the GTA folder to the desktop make back-ups of ur saves and tell it to uninstall and it won't get rid of the San Andreas folder that is on your desktop. If you really can't uninstall.... :S That is messed up.
  4. You could always try making the headlights tall or long I dunno if it would look better. Otherwise it is as big as it can be. You'd have to edit the .dff file and you'd need a program that can edit that kind of file. Gmax does it if you have the right scripts Kam's scripts or something like that. I changed the delorean to have all 4 headlights light up instead of 2. ;(ah) front lights (0 = long, 1 = small, 2 = big, 3 = tall) ;(ai) rear lights (0 = long, 1 = small, 2 = big, 3 = tall) ;(aj) vehicle anim group
  5. Trial and error. Reinstall the game but save the modded files, add the ones you know work fine then add ones you are unsure of and wait for a freeze. And you'll probably find out what is causing it. It's what I did when I had these kind of problems.
  6. Right half way through it freezes? You probably have version 2 of San Andreas. They made that version un-moddable after the Hot Coffee fiasco. But don't fear because you can download the SA downgrader to make it version 1.0 then it should work. I'm betting that is your problem because I have version 2 and it kept freezing like slightly, slightly past halfway when I tried to load a game every time. Downgrader works really well. And takes like 2 seconds. I'd attach it but its 10mb. I wish I had version 1.0 originally though because I can't seem to upgrade to 1.1 and they let you use the num5 key which you can't use in version 2 or 1. But you can in 1.1
  7. Ya that would be pretty wicked. I especially like the get CJ high and drunk mod that is cool. I have all of those mods but haven't tried them yet. Don't want to screw up the game with all of the other mods I have.
  8. I came here looking for help with modding. But most of you guys seem to just have enough trouble installing mods. So I will offer some help to a few of the things I read here. IF YOU HAVE VERSION 2.0 OF SAN ANDREAS you cannot (easily) install mods, you should search for the San Andreas Downgrader. Which will downgrade your gta to Version 1.0. I had to do this myself and I guarantee it works quickly and is a tiny file you can always keep for whenever you install GTA SA. I also read someone asking about how to edit what vehicles appear in your garage and such. There is a program specifically for that... But don't bother with it because "GTA SA Center" is a great mod that has that ability and works really well without bugs and allows you to do tons of things like assign a key to flip your car over. Choose whatever weapons you would like to have and stack your garages with whatever cars you want in whatever colour you want. As well as spawn any vehicle in front of you. And much more. As for installing mods I don't wanna get into it. It is pretty easy. If the mod you downloaded doesn't have instructions or has bad ones download a similar file and it will probably have better instructions to follow. Just make sure you back-up you files so when you screw up a little line and the game starts to freeze you can go back to before the screw-up.
  9. That's what I'd like to know. But I have had no luck at all with using zmodeler and have been using gmax. It lets you add lights and dummies which is what lets you have car doors swing and other parts, and from importing the BTTF delorean I see that you just make the damaged part in the model but I don't know how you set it up so the game knows what part is the damaged model and the normal one. I can find no tutorials on how to make cars for GTA SA. I just wanted to know how to make a windshield that would be able to break like most cars have. But it is in the handling.cfg! ??? Duh, you gotta take some time to read the top of the page. It explains what each number does. Best to open it in wordpad instead of notepad so it is easier to read. Numbers under N is the top speed. O is the acceleration. And P is engine inertia. But the easiest way for you would probably be to download "SA Handling Editor" though I dunno why it has a tab for wheels when it is really the lights. Handling editor will make it easier (in some ways) to edit every vehicles characteristics. I even attached it here to download though I have never done this before... I think it is right here -> SA_Handling_Editor.zip <- Aren't I sweety... Now if only someone would help me with modding a car and adding a damn windshield! lol
  10. You can replace any weapon. It just replaces the skin so it looks like a different gun. You can also edit the weapons.ide using wordpad or notepad to change the firing rate and range etc. But it is kinda complicated with all of those numbers. Oh ya there is a program that will make it easier to edit the weapons. It's called Ammunation Tool.
