well i think i've got the 2nd place there - what a lame effort i could make excuses (MS Access here at work is hogging my machines resources like that biatch that all MS applications are and so the ball keeps on stalling for a fraction of a second) but i won't. shame, i thought i was onto a real roll today after my 2nd game

how do the tournaments work? they're not actually 2 player games are they? is it like a knockout system then? the players are paired up - they each play and get their scores - the highest goes through to round two, where they play again, and the highest scorer goes through to the next round? or do you actually play against the other person and have to arrange a time to both be online? well, if it's like the first method, and you need another person to make it work, count me in - work is boring as hell at the moment, so i can easily find a few minutes here and there to play

surely if it's just GTAIII again, that'll be a disapointment. no bikes, no planes, no helicopters, no swimming - i'm hopnig for a new game set in liberty city, but with the play elements from gta:sa i just really hope it's set in kinda now-ish time - i'm dreading if there's ever a GTA set in the 70s - bloody hippies! i hate just about everything 60s and 70s anyway - couple of things: play.com have it listed for release in september!! gonna be a while before we see any screenshots i think the part of Rockstar making the PSP gta is Rockstar Leeds - they are formed from a mobile games company that take two bought recently - they previously made the GBA version of Max Payne. has anyone played this? was it any good? did it have the same kinda feel as the ps2 version of it? (obviously not quite the same, being smaller screen and all, but did it capture the things that are cool about Max Payne, the bullet time and the cool film noir kinda atmosphere)??

well i put in my pre-order with amazon.co.uk on friday they've only got the one option there, for 180quid. thing is, i'll probably cancel that order closer to the date and get it somewhere else with a better price, or bundled with games can't _wait_ for GTA on the psp

surely it's gotta be Carson City?? although, i'd like to see GTA4 being the whole country - where you can drive from Liberty City on the east coast all the way to the west coast and san feiro that'd be cool then, of course, GTA5:World would be the next step......

omg!! that exorbeo site just cracks me up - that's well funny i used to have the handheld game that they must have based that on - some kinda space invaders game it was, looked almost exactly like the exsorbeo but square edges and a slightly bigger screen. well funny and i think the OG song sounding pants, well i think that's the point

3 days? is that 3 of our days? or 3 gta days? cos, if the clock runs the same as it does in vc then one day passes in about half an hour (it's pretty much one minute game time equals one second of real time isn't it?) so eating every 3 days means it's actually every 3 hours of play time. but of course, no game time will pass between saving a game and when you load it again. it does mean that i won't be able to start playing the game, then just leave the guy sitting there in a car with the radio playing for hours while i make food or mess with the computer or whatever.

some info on the soundtrack - the background music for the san fierro map is Voodoo Ray by A Guy Called Gereald this is good news - cos that was one of THE tunes from the early 90s rave scene - and if they're using it on the website, i guess it'll be in the game, and if that track is in the game, then i'm really looking forward to hear what other absolute classics they have on there anyone know what the music is on Los Santos?

yeah, the turf wars are gonna add an awesome element to the game - i wonder what happens later on though - when you're all big and mighty with your own casino - do you still have to head back to the hood to protect the OCF's terrotory? the knife stealth attack thing sounds a lot like manhunt - i'm glad i've got it pre-ordered, there's gonna be a whole load of outcry and complaints when it comes out. mind you, that didn't exactly affect manhunt last month - all those shops that came out and made big statements about how they were withdrawing the game from their shelves, they're all selling it again now that it's not in the papers anymore

teaser sites tell us loads about the new game sure, if you're only gonna play the game to run around, steal cars, and shoot people, then you won't get anything from them - but there's sooooo much more to GTA than just playing the game - and the teaser sites give us an early insight into what the rest of the GTA:SA experience is gonna be like

in GTA3 and GTA:VC there were loads of adverts on the radio for fake companies and stuff - and particularly in GTA3 they quoted their websites - rockstar put actual websites up on those urls and they release prior to the games release. so they're kind of a glimpse at some of the themes and adverts that we'll see in the game. i can guess that there'll be lots of Epsilon adverts all around the towns in SA and i'd suspect even a couple of missions are for the Epsilon corporation to carry out their underhand activities - i expect maccer will either be a dj or he'll be on several of the radio adverts, promoting the epsilon program

ah, well i have a good excuse - my company is in the middle of making 90% of us redundant - so we've nothing to do but surf teh web all day. well, we've work to do - but for some reason we all seem to lost interest in doing any of that :-) perfect timing too - hopefully i'll be out of this place in time for GTA:SA and then i can spend all day every day cruising the streets of san andreas :-) but the other guys that post this stuff and have other proper stuff to do - it's just a sign of pure dedication :-)

that would also explain the City Limits line that is visible on the very top right edge of the map on the R* site. it's not Los Santos' City Limits, cos that's in the middle of the R* map but i agree - awesome work by tnk - very impressed with the way he's put it all together and kept it in the same style. there does seem to be helluva lot of water around though - i wasn't expecting there to be so much in san andreas

noooo, that's so unfair my birthday is on the 22nd Oct - it was all gonna be so perfect - wake up, check the post to find play.com have delivered GTA:SA on time, then spend the next 3 days playing it solidly now i'm gonna have to partake in birthday celebrations and be sociable and stuff instead. nuts!!
