  1. It could be a couple of things. You need to make sure you extract images from the TXD files as 'PNG' format images, because PNG support 'alpha' or transparency, whereas others do not. If you have been doing this, you need to make sure that the image editor you are using supports transparency. Microsoft paint would be an example of this. More advanced image editors like Photoshop and the gimp will, however.

  2. You need a tool like IMGtool, all you have to do is open up the file 'GTA3.img' in the 'models' folder of your San Andreas install directory using IMGtool. From there extract the following files.

    -tags_lavagos.txd

    -tags_latemple.txd

    -tags_laseville.txd

    -tags_larollin.txd

    -tags_larifa.txd

    -tags_lakilo.txd

    -tags_lafront.txd

    -tags_laazteca.txd

    -tags_lalae.txd

    5.png

    Once you have these files in a safe place, download txdworkshop, open up each of these files individually in txd workshop and select 'export > to PNG' and save them somewhere safe.

    2-1.png

    Then you can edit the PNG in your favourite image editing software, I use Photoshop, alternatives include GIMP.

    3-1.png

    When you;re done editing, save the file back in the same format and place to overwrite the file, which will probably be called 'grove' or similar. Then use txd workshop to 'import' the edited image into the txd.

    4.png

    Once you have your new txd with the logo you want, import it into the GTA3img file using IMGtool's 'add' command.

    5.png

    After you have done this for all of the tags, save and rebuild the GTA3.img file and enjoy.

  3. In theory, yes it is possible. You'd extract, modify and re-burn the files from the game disc to a new disk. However, you'd need a chipped/modded 360; These are commonly used to circumvent anti-piracy measures however, so beyond this there's not an awful lot I can tell you in accordance with the forum rules.

  4. Firstly, that guy's pretty much a dick. If I wanna use god features and whatnot I tend to set up a private server so it doesn't piss anyone off.

    If you want to do the same, for completely non - malevolent reasons, you can use the simple native trainer. It will work in singleplayer and online.

  5. I like the way you think kokane.

    My point is, whatever your religion is, what matters is you being a good person, not harming innocent others.

    When a country (such as the US, but not exclusively) have entire infrastructures of power, laws, morals and standards inexorably linked to Christianity, and claim that they are a Christian nation, and then proceed to rape and pillage and murder in the pursuit of money and power over peace, it becomes hard for me to legitimately believe that religion has a place in modern society. Especially when it is a factual and blatant breach of not only the ten commandments, but international law defended by the pursuit of Christianity.

    Now I understand not every Christian is a military strategist funnelling men into the middle east in pursuit of money. What I don't understand is how a god supposedly so mighty, so benevolent, and so irrefutably mighty would allow the slaughter not only of millions of men, women and children, but of every moral fibre he entrusted the first human beings with. He called one man to a mountain to sacrifice his son as a test of loyalty, but will not so much as call out those refusing to fund legitimate cancer research because it won't profit, or feed the hungry, or allow the racial barriers that plague this earth to be broken. All men were created equal.

    The meek, instead of inheriting the earth, lie downtrodden, dead broke, and tied to systems that will perpetuate their own misery for eons to come.

    That's why I can't come to terms with religion (mainly Christianity - I'm the first to admit I don't know enough to comment on any others) it just seems to me that we have wagered an awful lot on the Bible being right, and the longer the play goes on the more grim the reality gets.

    I'd also like to note I don't have a problem with someone being openly Christian / Catholic / Muslim / whatever, but do lose some respect for those who refuse to think critically. The longer and more passionately someone argues with me (outside of predictable and circular logic) the more I respect them. Was arguing with one of my close friends on the vices and virtues of capitalism, which I'm pretty passionate about, and he managed to shut me up about it. Beers followed.

  6. Yeah the map is HUGE. If it was possible it would be likely in thirty years. And by the way facebook would become incredibly slow due to the bandwith it would take up on there servers playing a massive game.So maybe not even in thirty years!

    i lold. so friggin hard.

    Qbert.png

    This is Q*bert, from thirty years ago, in 1982.

    Ibm-pc.gif

    and this is an IBM PC . On its release somewhere during either '81 or '82 it woulda have set you back a cool 8 grand.

    When you consider game services such as onlive can stream the latest titles such as DiRT3 (which gets the best of my PC sometimes) over the net with no prior hardware requirements, (and that facebook have one beast of a datacenter) you soon realise that it's probably no further than a licensing contract away.

  7. Well from reading that article it seems like he was responsible for the guy's suicide (even though it wasn't directly stated or encouraged as a reason for his conviction towards the jury) , and tampered with evidence. He's lucky to get 10 years. You can't treat someone like a fucking spectacle, like a zoo attraction because they're different to you, especially if it's something they don't have a choice over.

    I hope a big old dude screws him in prison.

  8. This is probably a pretty complex thing to achieve with custom vehicles. I think the futo GT spawns anyway naturally, but confined to a certain area. It can and will spawn more often when you drive a futo though - however instead of being it's own car, I'm pretty sure it's generated with the extra 'parts' (rollcage, vinyls, hood etc) instead of being a separate vehicle class as it were. These 'parts' and when / whether they spawn are defined in the vehicles.ide file, but I have no idea how it works beyond that. So unless the mod was specifically set up with the base car and the option of having the 'parts' you're going to run into trouble.

    I can suggest 2 things: add the gymkhana car into the game instead of replacing (it can be done!) and give it a similar set of values as the futo's GT variant (again, I'd have no idea how you'd do it, but shouldn't be too hard to figure out), OR if you want the car to be super - rare install it in place of the Sultan RS. Be warned though, they pop up fuckin' everywhere when you drive one, and it looks a bit silly (I have a race - prepped zonda in that slot : S )

    If you've got any more questions, let me know :)

  9. Are you, like...some sort of prick, dude? I mean seriously. You've been on the forums 20 minutes and you're acting all fucking entitled. Don't get me wrong, we're short of activity, and we know it - but when people see that as an opportunity to a be an utter twat on the internet and act like some sort of computer gangster to compensate for some sort of void in their life, we'd rather not have to entertain it. So what if people sign up just to ask the one question? if you're not willing to answer, you're just as much a fucking nuisance, if not more, than they are (that applies outside of this particular thread aswell). Please don't try and undermine the questions of people who come here, yeah, we hate it when people ask stupid questions (no offense at OP, perfectly legit post and I'll get to you ina sec :) ) but we do our best to answer so that they see our community in a positive light. I do see the irony in this - I realise I'm probably not giving off a friendly vibe, but I don't go around indiscriminately shit-holing people who just want their questions answered. Please, please don't make a habit of it.

    *ahem*

    @OP: The only thing i can really suggest is tweaking which compatibility modes your trainer and /or game are running in (right click the exe > properties > compatibility). If that doesn't fix it, I think maybe norton (though you've turned it off etc) might have gone ahead and blacklisted it anyway since it's a pretty invasive AV program. Is there any way you could double check the black / whitelists for the program? Even if you have copies it might just be remembering the file name, size and type and blocking the duplicates because they match the criteria. Try renaming the trainer as a complete shot in the dark?

    Outside of that, I don't know how much you know about the modding scene for San Andreas, but CLEO might interest you - it's a script based system *guesses wildly* that uses plugins and in game interfaces to perform tasks that trainers might. I don't know too much about it myself but have a dig around on google and you might find something.

    Lastly, welcome to the forums, and let us know how you get on with the problem, dude!

    super quick edit - just found this thread by one of our members, Deji which may help out if you choose the cleo route.

  10. ^this.

    I have no doubt that he's an evil, sick, wrong human being. But the frankly - kick ass social media campaign isn't layered on that strong just to make you want to fight the cause. Money is being made.

  11. Yes Notch told a fan over twitter to crack Minecraft and if he can afford it in the future, he should buy it.

    Any AAA game developer would have likely reported them to the authorities instantly, instead of sympathizing with his situation.

    As for demos, I watch YouTube gameplay

    You can't convey feel, atmosphere, or an experience over youtube, I don't think. I watched loads of videos of Amnesia : dark descent and figured it wouldn't scare me at all and I should give it a go. Got it for £3 in a steam sale (!) and the build up in a properly rendered game environment had me shitting myself. But I digress.

    There are obviously people who feel a bit entitled and just download shit left right and centre, I know a guy who downloads so much that he has to buy new HDDs every month to cope. The guy's a douche. He's also fucking loaded though - he'd have no problem at all buying all the stuff he downloads, but he does it because as a service, piracy is easier. He has programs set up to download his favourite American TV when it comes online, rename it, move it where he wants it on his PC, and begin seeding it for his fellow pirates. He can then stream it to his TV over a home network. If he wanted to do this legally, the amount of DRM, bloatware and general red tape he'd encounter would be enormous, not to mention the amount of time he'd have to wait for it to make it across the Atlantic in the first place.

  12. Now, anybody who pirates and ***** (wont swear because I'm family friendly) there computer is liable for all damage, if it's a virus, keylogger, trojan, backdoor, spyware, malware or whatever.

    No kidding.

    I mean we all know someone who always downloads illegal games and movies.. This issue is not reflected to consoles but more towards Computers because Windows/Apple/Linux do not know what and how to prevent this, it is up to the developer to fix this problem.

    http://nerdreactor.c...-leaked-online/ Well done, this^ shows how out of touch you are with the issue. 360 version of the potential game of the year out and playable on 360 before PC, being seeded and leeched at a vastly higher capacity.

    Trust me I know a lot about computers. I reckon about at least 35% of pirated stuff out there is a virus.

    Firstly, If you're enough of an idiot to download '[email protected]' then you deserve a virus. This is a fact. I don't think I've ever contracted a virus from anything I've downloaded / browsed / torrented / magnet bitch thingy linked since I turned 14.

    This leads me onto my next point. The difference between the pirates and the game developers are that the pirates know more about the consumer. They also care more about the consumer. To this end, piracy is always becoming easier, and occasionally becomes more 'safe', less incriminating and quicker. Pirates always want to be the first out the gate when it comes to making it easier for the common man to get hold of what they want. Meanwhile, companies like ubisoft/EA/activision who are stamping out sequels with frightening regularity and similarity, at a frightening consistent £44.99 / whatever pricepoint, with a horrible attitude to DLC (seeing it as a method to eek cash out of customers, rather than extend a game experience) introduce always more intrusive DRM which leaves gamers out of what they paid for if servers go down, or it's a tuesday, or if they want to install it a few times after reformatting / whatever.

    This is why convenient, cheap, consumer friendly services like steam, netflix and spotify are making money out of their arses, capitalising upon the desires of their consumers instead of focusing on how to bind the consumer to a contract / ensure they can't breach contract, etc, etc. They're also out marketing fantastic indie products such as limbo, super meat boy, Magicka and REALLY contributing to the industry in a way that benefits the creative that truly drive it, instead of the bank managers and accountants who use it to buy out these creative's intellectual property and spread it thinly over 4 sequels at nearly 50 quid a go, instead of a modest price point.

    Also, as a (somewhat ranty) note before I end this rant - DEMOS - when I was growing up in the 90's I could sure as shit download a demo before buying a game I wanted, I could see it, feel it, use it and judge for myself instead of letting a multimillion dollar ad campaign brainwash me. Not too long ago, i wanted to play the Dead space 2 demo. It didn't come to PC. I pirated the game. I immediately regretted the decision, since the game was fucking terrible. I coulda spent 40 quid on it and then had my refund denied because of the stigma surrounding PC gaming. But I didn't. I probably played it less that the time / distance limit on a demo would have been.

    To me, Piracy seems like a conequence of the entertainment industry getting a bit too greedy. Ubisoft spend alot of time and money and stress and manpower on stopping it and notch encourages people to do it if it's what they wanna do. Notch just paid his 20 man team 3 million dollars. A hundred and fifty grand each.

  13. This is a touch old, but yeah, as above is pretty on - the mark. Specifically I'd look at reducing some of these figures:

    [bLOOM]

    BloomPowerDay=14

    BloomConstantDay=5

    BloomPowerNight=14

    BloomConstantNight=5

  14. Ok...

    So are you interested in making further mods of another kind, or just curious as to when your mod will be approved? If you're just waiting for your mod to be approved, I'd suggest just waiting it out for a while, Chris (the admin) is probably busy with his life and work and so on so it might take him a little while to approve it.

  15. I'm hoping it'll be the game GTAIV should've been. IV was a technical, literary and comedic masterpiece - things every GTA should be... but in creating such a claustrophobic rendition of Liberty City they really, really made you have to work hard to appreciate it. San Andreas was always a much more varied, bright and brash landscape designed to be enjoyed as much for the bustling inner cities as the sunkissed mile - wide deserts. The rural areas gave you the opportunity to just sit back and take it all in, whilst the suburbs were packed with unique settings that were impossible to forget.

    tldr: very.

    Also I'm in hyper-vocabulary / dissertation writing mode today which is...fun?
