modding with vista

please help

i cant change the values of car vehicle handling

i just get an error telling me i cant perform the task.

is there some sort of bypass?

Make sure the path and file name are correct.

do i need the IMG Tool to change handling values?

Close the file, right click, go to properties, uncheck "Read-Only", click OK, then try again.

just save it into another folder on your desktop or on your desktop and just copy it into the data folder and replace it the one in the folder with the one your putting in

ok the only other problem i could think of, is you dont have administrative rights, therefore dont have write access to anything in C:\program files\

just try download and install something...eg winamp

if it doesnt install properly or says you dont have permissions, then there's your problem. i dont think theres a way around it, apart from either increasing your permissions to admin or modding san andreas on an account that has admin privileges.

no its that vista is trying to stop you from changing the cfg file it happens to me all the time when I mod the easiest way is to do what I had said

I have vista, do this.

Move the file to Desktop, and then edit it and save it. Now put it back to its originall location.
