Spaz The Great
Are you unchecking it, then closing the window, or hitting "Apply" or "Okay"? You need to hit either Apply or Okay, just closing it doesn't save any changes.
JustADummy
Lol, I think that's a bit dumb, he wouldn't click Cancel
Spaz The Great
Lol, I think that's a bit dumb, he wouldn't click Cancel No, but there's an X at the top of the window, and I've known a lot of people who were in the habit of hitting that. Earthbound
Spaz, I sincerely hope that's not what he's doing. Another suggestion though - Some folders enforce inherited properties, meaning, it doesn't matter if you change a sub-folder, the changes will not successfully change unless you deselect the Inherit option on the folder above it (or the one above that). It's a long shot though.
Spaz The Great
You're making a horrible assumption that no one makes mistakes and that EVERYONE knows as much as you do. Pro-tip, stay out of tech support. Sometimes the most important things to check, are the most obvious.

I simply stated that I hoped that he wasn't just hitting the close button, as that would be rather daft.
Spaz The Great
Again, you're making assumptions. It isn't daft, I've seen plenty of people do it. My dad use to be in the habit of doing it, now he just annoys me because he has to hit apply then okay every time.
