How do I log into VCMP (Vice City Multiplayer)?

I have downloaded the VCMP client into the GTA vice city root folder. I have entered my nickname, the server IP, and im stuck on "Port".

In IT class i have heard of ports, but that was ages ago and I forget. What do I enter in port?

And could someone give me a step by step instruction to run it, incase I did something wrong?

That version is hard to setup, where did you download it (recommended is vicecitymultiplayer.com) , i think a 0.3z client is easiest, and port try 7777

The server browser should come up unless the master server is down (and knowing the "MP" team it probably is) so yeah, try and use an alternate server method like http://game-monitor.com/ and search for a server then add it to your favorites, double click, and go in. I don't know if it supports Vice City MP though. Worth a shot.
