Vercetti Thug Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) On an HP Pavilion Laptop running on a Vista Home Edition, I have a serious problem with it, caused by a program called AntiVirus360. I went to a site by accident (not pornography, mind you) but suddenly A360 started attacking me with numerous virus threat messages. Many many viruses and risks were outlined in numerous pop-ups. I closed them easily enough and fell back on doing a Norton Scan (yes Norton sucks but I didn't have AVG free or spybot on that comp.) Norton has found one threat, while A360 has found something between 36 and thousands. I'm thinking its scareware but I got sensitive information on that comp and I wanna be sure to save it. Any advice?PLEASE? Simple. GET RID OF ANTIVIRUS360, AND DOWNLOAD AVG. All done. Then do a system restore after that if it still doesn't work. EDIT: After Downloading AVG, get off the internet when running scans so nobody tries seeing something, and backup then delete all your sensitive information. Also, do you even have a firewall? And, exactly what site was it? Run a google search on it to see if there's any reviews or warnings about it. A360 comes with Vista so it has to be reliable, and AVG is only a trial so I cant get rid of it in good conscience, but I have so many popups on the screen that I cant deal with it without being afraid. Also. the numerous threats are like 36 viruses detected or something. Will spybot work? (Note that the messages always load to block or remove viruses from A360 and they always ask for a registration key with my email attached to it. I dont even know what a registration key is.) And check out my Sig by the way, you'll love it EDIT: Alright, Tell ya what. Disconnect from the internet, don't go to that site again, run Norton, and do a System Restore. Dude, just get off the internet, run Norton, and then if it doesn't fix it do system resotre which I gave you a tutorial link for. Forget A360, and come back if you have a problem. Step 1: Take a big magnet and put it as close as possible to the PC's hard drive. Step 2: Give Raybob a few seconds to run before you mutilate him. Let him try with Combofix,if that doesn't help u go with a Trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security or K Anti Virus.Oh,let Combofix finish his work,if there's something popping up as such u dont have the database updated just press later,ignore or just do it whatever ur button is. ToonSkull Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Also another good free fix is "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" I used it to get rid of "Anti Virus 2009" on my brother's PC. Bottom line here is if you didn't install the program the it is a Trojan Virus pretending to be your installed virus system. When you hit the registration and pay them the CA$H they won't do anything but rob you of your money. It just makes you want to go running around punching them in the face. That is a fake program that wants to make you think you have a lot of viruses when you could have absolutely none. The scare is only there to trick you into buying their software that you don't need. It's adware/spyware/malware. I remember something similar. Took me about 2 weeks to get rid of it. Just keep fighting it. Ignore the warnings, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE BROWSER POP-UPS. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF BROWSER POP-UP WARNINGS ABOUT YOUR HARD DRIVE INFORMATION IS FAKE. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

GET RID OF ANTIVIRUS360 My original advice is still in effect. And you can fulfill my advice by using Spybot. Works like a charm. And it's Free. The Full Version.
