Sherman
So my CPU fan is making a weird noise like it's on the way out. Can anyone suggest me something that'd be an upgrade and not cost something ridiculous? Money isn't really an object, just don't feel like spending a ton on a stupid fan. Thanks! Damjan
You could try to open the case and clean it. But if you want a fan, what CPU do you have, AMD or Intel? Edited July 2, 2009 by Sтεαм.
MrLlamaLlama
Yeah, best just to try cleaning all the dust and crap out of it first... I recall you being on AMD, a 4800? so yeah, I'd go for an arctic cooling freezer 7. Pretty much the decent, cheap standard HSF for amd chips. Sherman
Cleaned out all the dust, replaced the front case fan. And yeah it's an AMD Athlon 62 dual core. 4200+
ToonSkull
Cleaned out all the dust, replaced the front case fan. And yeah it's an AMD Athlon 62 dual core. 4200+ Peel off the center sticker and using house hold oil "3 in 1 Oil" place one drop on the axle. Cover using tape or another sticker of the same size. Works all the time from my experience. Quiets the fans and prolongs the life.
