Windows XP Life Line

I don't know about you, but I love Windows XP, most people who use other OSes still think XP is Microsoft's best Operating System from a historical perspective, but in about 2 years or less, MS hopes to ditch supporting all XPs for Vista!!!.... Windows 7 and Windows 8, barring that, a new Windows 9 purported to be on the horizon, but as someone who just did another install of Windows 7, I am here to tell you, XP kicks literal arse!

We should take some time here to think on it's wondermints. TONS AND TONS of software have been released supporting it, drivers for nearly every device ever manufactured. XP's lifespan is probably near unequaled in the history of computing, bar variations of Linux

So, from my end, XP will be the OS to start a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) format fresh for many years to come, and I see at least 10 years still on the horizon for how long XP will actually be servicing the computers around the world

What say you all?

Some great links to the best OS ever made;

Some repeat facts among these, but have a look anyway, you will learn something I'm sure!

I use Windows 7 on my main PC, but Windows XP is still great for the lower end Computers. For example, I own a netbook that came with 7 and it ran real bad. I threw XP on it after finding drivers and it runs excellent. I think Windows XP even to this day has a use and a place in the modern Computer world.

If you have a netbook or a low-end laptop that came with Windows 7, hunt down some drivers and throw XP on and you'll be suprised.

My mom and dad, not the most tech savvy bunch, still using XP on a Dimension 4700 Dell. It's funny that since I got a Dimension 2400 someone was tossing out, I can grab the same board and throw it in the 2400 case, which follows a NON Proprietary design. Anywho, most of those older Dells came with XP support discs, and you never have to limit an install with those in hand, but now with Vista, 7, and Windows 8, you will have to be judicious about what HDD on what hardware gets what OS, and it stays that way for the life of the system, you would have the option to migrate to a bigger drive, presumably to Solid State, 2 or 3 Terabytes, I imagine, but it won't be as easy as XP or Win 9x in the past
