In a message to fans posted on the Rockstar Newswire and Rockstar's social media accounts, Sam Houser has thanked players worldwide for being part of their journey in making videogames as part of culture as essential as any other form of entertainment. Houser signs off the message with an announcement that the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game will be released early next month.

Finally: Rockstar Officially Confirms Next GTA In Development!

It's been a long time coming. In fact, it's been almost a whole decade since we had a new GTA game to talk about! But yesterday, Rockstar Games finally confirmed that development of the next instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series is "well underway".

I think most - perhaps all - fans of the franchise suspected this to be the case, but until now it was pure wishful thinking. The confirmation came as part of the latest community update posted on the Rockstar Newswire, and this following tidbit of information has already seen fans buzzing on social media with speculation.

Attention has been cast on that final sentence in particular:

Quote

[we] cannot wait to step into the future with you!

Of course, this could just be a mere figure of speech, but many fans are already speculating that this could point to a futuristic setting. Indeed, we've already seen Rockstar Games explore the 80s, 90s, and modern day era with the releases from GTA III through to GTA V, so a near future setting would provide something fresh for the developers to work with, and give even more creative freedom surrounding the gameplay and storytelling. That being said, it's important to note that this is simply speculation for now, Rockstar Games as a company is famous for remaining tight-lipped regarding information on upcoming titles. Speaking of which, forget the setting or location, we don't even have the title yet. We're tentatively referring to it as GTA VI for now.

Does this mean TGTAP is coming back?

Good question! It's been over 5 years since we last posted any news on the website. GTA Online of course became Rockstar's main focus throughout this time, and the unstoppable rise of social media, and Rockstar's own Newswire blog, rendered most of the smaller fansites like ours somewhat redundant. The drastic drop in traffic, coupled with real life getting in the way, has meant that fansites like TGTAP - and numerous others - have been neglected. I won't deny that this announcement has certainly piqued my interest once again, though, so no promises but all I can say is... we'll see.

Good news for those of you who were fans of The Lost and Damned; the next free DLC update for GTA Online will be in the form of biker gangs. Rockstar haven't given an exact release date for this yet (other than Coming Soon™), here's what they have to say about it:

Quote

Bikers, the next big addition to GTA Online, brings the eagerly-anticipated ability to form and lead your very own Motorcycle Club for up to 8 players. Bikers will introduce new roles to play from fresh Prospects to club Presidents with a massive slate of new competitive and co-op gameplay, along with a range of new motorcycles, properties that include MC Clubhouses with a special custom Biker mechanic, and venues for seedy business ventures.

Beyond a range of opportunities to climb the ranks within a gang and build lucrative businesses as a formidable MC, Bikers also includes a selection of appropriately-themed new modes for bikers of all kinds, along with new weapons, styles, tattoos and features to make this a huge addition to the world of GTA Online.

And while loyal MCs will fight to expand their foothold alongside black-collar CEOs and Organizations, there’s always another opportunity to make your mark just around the corner. Keep an eye out for high-level, high-risk vehicle based business ventures to spring up across Los Santos and Blaine County soon.

We'll keep you updated as to when we'll be seeing this released in game.

The latest free DLC for GTA Online is out now in the shape of Cunning Stunts. Good news for everyone who likes to perform stunning... stunts in the game.

Quote

Cunning Stunts takes GTA Online racing to epic new heights with a series of 16 brand-new, high-octane Stunt Races that feature everything from winding tubular tracks amongst Los Santos’ tallest skyscrapers to technical courses through canyons, over water and across the desert. Stunt Races utilize ramps, loops, wall rides, tubes, raised tracks and dynamic objects for a radically new take on GTA Online racing.

Of course there's also the usual addition of brand new cars, clothing, accessories and whatnot. Unfortunately there's no way to create your own stunt races yet, though Rockstar have pointed out that this will be forthcoming on the 2nd of August, as well as more races and vehicles.

If you want to win yourself some GTAV merch then Rockstar also have a sweepstakes open right now you can enter. If not, you could watch the trailer below, or you could read the full details on this update, or if that's not your thing there's always the full detailed patch notes.

Liberty City Stories Released on iOS, Coming Soon to Android

Posting about GTA: Liberty City Stories in 2015 - 10 years after the game was first released - is strange. Though not entirely unexpected given recent trends. Releasing mobile versions of past GTA titles soon after their 10th anniversary has become somewhat of a tradition for Rockstar Games, and this year is no exception, with the return of handheld favourite Liberty City Stories - first released in 2005 for Sony PSP, and later in 2006 for the PS2.

GTA Liberty City Stories has a brief exclusivity period on iOS (Apple prefer to feature apps that are exclusive to iOS) so you can download the game right now for your iPhone or iPad, while Android and Amazon users will need to wait, we're not sure how long because Rockstar have only said it's coming soon™. Below is the trailer and blurb for the game. Enjoy this blast from the not so distant past. Also if you currently play GTA Online, you can get a free in-game t-shirt by playing LCS, so do read everything below for instructions on how to unlock that.

In Liberty City Stories, former trusted wise guy for the Leone crime family, Toni Cipriani returns home after spending time in hiding for killing a made man. Now, the streets of Liberty City are in turmoil, as warring families vie for control and the town begins to self-destruct under waves of political corruption, organized crime, drug trafficking and union strikes. Deranged hit men, morally depraved tycoons, cynical politicians and even his own mother stand in the way as Toni tries to bring the city under Leone family control.

Originally designed with mobile gameplay in mind, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories returns with enhancements including real time lighting and shadows, upgraded textures and art, greater draw distance, performance enhancements for touch-based gaming including updated analog steering and rebalanced targeting, cross-platform cloud saves via Social Club, support for Apple’s 3D touch and more.

In addition to cross-platform cloud saves, if you download Liberty City Stories and then sign in to Social Club within the app, you'll unlock the bonus I HEART LC t-shirt with the same account used in Grand Theft Auto Online for PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC. Once you've signed in, the shirt will be available for free at any GTA Online clothing store (please allow up to 24 hours for the I HEART LC Shirt to be available in GTA Online).
Watch today's trailer above to catch a glimpse of Liberty City Stories in action, and for more details on the game visit rockstargames.com/libertycitystories.

Good news everyone! Next week will see the release of yet another FREE DLC for GTA Online, this one being all about lowriders, car customisation, and new vehicles and weapons.

Compared to some previous DLC for the game, this one is packing a lot more content that has been widely requested by players, but it will be the first DLC unavailable to those still playing on PS3 or Xbox 360 consoles. Rockstar previously warned about this on the Newswire, explaining that "future content updates such as this are only possible on the newer and more powerful systems. As there isn’t enough memory available to add to the game on the older systems, we cannot make any more meaningful content updates without putting the entire game at risk."

Read on below for full details of what's coming in this feature-filled DLC.

Quote

With next week’s release of GTA Online: Lowriders for PS4, Xbox One and PC – lovers of cars and customization all across Los Santos and Blaine County will have a suite of brand new options and a new place to go get them. Introducing Benny’s Original Motor Works, a new customs shop in downtown Strawberry that offers a huge range of lowrider customizations that can turn your classic junker into a high-spec, tricked-out king of the streets.

Visit Benny’s website via the shortcut on your in-game phone to choose from a half-dozen select customizable vehicles – then bring them down to the man himself for an upgrade that unlocks new custom lowrider mods. Deck out your engine block with covers and air filters, coat your interiors with velour, leather and patterns, choose custom colors and designs for your dials, or add a new steering wheel and custom shift levers. Give your ride lift with hydraulics - the more powerful the pumps, the higher you can bounce. And boost your stereo’s performance with new speakers and subs in the back.

Then, meet up with friends and fellow car enthusiasts to show off your new rides – use the Player Interaction Menu while inside or outside the car to open up the vehicle doors, hood and trunk, switch on the engine to flash your neons and bump your favorite radio station for all to admire. Crew car shows are about to go next level.

And keep an eye out for calls and texts from Lamar – he’s making moves of his own through a series of new missions and he’s going to need your help. You’ll want to hit up your trusted allies, wheelmen, and sharpshooters for backup too, as things are going to get hectic.

Get stocked with the fully automatic Machine Pistol or Machete from Ammu-Nation. The upwardly mobile can also expand their garage space and fleet of vehicles with the addition of the oft-requested fourth purchasable property. There’s also tons of new clothing, hair and accessory options as well as 3 new Adversary Modes and more.

GTA Online: Lowriders arrives for PS4, Xbox One and PC as an automatic update on Tuesday, October 20th. See more screens from next week’s update below.
