psu3_mag_jun07.jpgUK publication Playstation 3 Unlimited has a new 6 page preview of GTA IV. There are a few new minor details provided by the magazine in its June issue.

  • There are about four different camera angles
  • The in-car camera basically acts as a first-person view, where you're able to look around across the bonnet (hood)
  • Weather effects aren't merely for show, they will affect gameplay (such as vehicle handling)
  • You'll be able to use the right analogue stick on the Xbox 360 (and presumably PS3) controller to look around.

Thanks to K4miL for the info (via MattyBlog)

These are a very nice news and I mostly like weather thing and in-car 1st person look.

I hope that in-car first person view can be changed to third person view as it was earlier cause it would

be hard to stunt with that view.

Yeah it is most likely will, it's just one of those new features of camera angles.

The thing about looking around with the right analog I think on the Xbox version of Vice City we were able to do that too. I like the weather news possibly hinting that there will be snow? Anyways, some nice little info for today.

Yeah I'd just try it for fun but I'd go back to the normal view right away when I'm playing seriously. I'm almost 100% you'll be able to change car views.

Cool. New views should be interesting to see. The First Person view different now, which means that I'll be able to see the hood. I hope these good Camera Views do much better than San Andreas did. ;)

It shows R8 are gonna be puting mnor edetail int IV, to fully model and texture a sah for acar is extra work and detail, this will certainly mpress, and bodes well.

English Translation

" It shows R* are going to be putting more detail into 'IV', to fully model and texture a car dashboard is a fair bit of extra work and detailing. This will certainly impress, and bodes well [ For Rockstar ] "

I can't type for shit today. Sorry.

Lol... I just realized that when you run someone over in first-person view you'll be able to see their body smash against the windshield and blood spatter everywhere. Yay!

Yeah, it would be nice to see some nice car interiors. I wonder if you'll be able to see the steering wheel or just from the hood kinda view? Because if we could see the steering wheel we would also be able to see how fast we're going which would be cool.

Silberio's photo
Silberio 27th May, 2007 @ 00:20 - Permalink

Im pretty sure you will, as in other GTA's you could actually see the Steering Wheel too (from outside, of course).

Gauges would be nice too

Why are you all saying "I hope you can change the view from in car"....

Did you not read where it says "There are 4 camera angles you can choose from"?

I like the idea of the weather changing the way the car is driven. I would love to drive the car or even race when it is wet.
