Really happy about this. Was instantly trying to pick apart all the elements of the logo to try and pilfer information / speculation. I suspect, as hinted above, that money is going to be a BIG factor.

Oh yeah we're definitely still saying GTA V. The money reference is interesting though and here's my take on it:

The 'FIVE' font is the same used on various currencies around the world, the American and British in particular.

The green colour used on the V is a little weird, almost like a gang colour, but American money is green, so it's probably related to that.

Given the current economic climate, this might suggest money plays a very big factor in the game and/or it is set in present day around the global recession.

Well it looks like most of us agree on the money theme. As for location, to be honest we're just gonna have to wait for the trailer, there's too many possibilities really.

My initial thought after thinking the money theme was Las Vegas (Las Venturas), as in, all the casinos etc. with gambling and building up an empire etc. with said money.

Wow, right on. Just when I thought that nothing else could be hinted by the title design of the game. And as stupid as this sounds, as long as we're sticking to the Las Venturas/gambling hints, maybe the trailer release date is a reference to getting 'snake eyes' ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_eyes ) when gambling with dice: 11 (1 and 1) 02 (2 pairs of snakes eyes) 11 (1 and 1).

I would rather V be a remake of San Andreas with larger cities (Los Santos was fine, but Las Venturas & San Fiero were not up to par imo) and enough countryside for planes, ect. Regardless if it will be be Vice ,San Andreas or a new city I'm just looking forward the teaser next week.

R* North is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Great Britain, The United Kingdom.

Most of the staff are from Britain, might be a few from the continent too.

True as both of your posts are, Rockstar does now, not just consist of Rockstar North, they are a multinational company with branches in San Diego, USA. Yes Sam and Dan Houser are Scottish and yes the did study at Dundee University, but at this point you can't really put a nationality on Rockstar as a company.

According to Wikipedia, Rockstar Games' HQ is in New York. But they have branches in many places of the world, such as Tokyo (R* Japan), UK (R* Leeds, North, Lincoln and London), Canada (R* Toronto and Vancouver), and the US itself (R* San Diego). Plus, they formerly had a studio in Austria (R* Vienna), but it was closed down in 2006.

if you get the logic you will see that the GTA V has a dollar bill. The dollar being the national currency of the U.S is made by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing whose HQ's are at Washington D.C and since the U.S mint is also located here so...it might be a possibility

I do like the idea of a single city, as opposed to the multi city/state style of San Andreas. I hope if based on an 'SA' city that its San Fierro, I'm open to the idea of Las Venturas.

The only connection it has is that the green on the logo could possibly be a reference to grove street, which was one of my original thoughts however, I am leaning more to the idea that the green is just a money reference

Not an actual dollar bill but one from circa 1890-1900, copyrights and other restrictions expire after 80 years in the US so I think Rockstar could reproduce it somewhat. I think the game's going to be set in San Andreas for some reason.

Well it is, or seems to be anyway. What I'm saying is I think the illustrator just happens to be a GTA fan, not sure it was actually commissioned by R*, it's not even their style.

Rockstar have their own in - house guy called Stephen Bliss for alot of the Artwork. he's either produced / directed most of the Artwork since GTAIII. One of my Design Lecturers used to work at R* coincidentally, though never on any of the gaming aspects I don't think.... mainly design for in - house usage at a guess. He helped my out a bunch when I did some research on Bliss during a project a few years ago. He doesn't work there any more I might add; He started his own design company which bombed and now he's a lecturer and art director. He's also a fuckin' prick.

I like the Idea of DC, but obviously not DC. If DC was R*s envisionment (word?) of Carcer City - which I'd like to see - and would get right on board with.

I think location might be less important, while I don't want another rehash of the old cities (los santos, san fierro etc.)

I think that timeline is more important, will they go back to the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s or create a modern timeline like IV, I would love a 70s style timeline but can't see it happening as the character would have to lose the mobile phone and internet etc.

I have the feeling that they're going to release a clip of about 30 seconds which will explain absolutely nothing except for what the quality of the graphics is going to be. Then we'll have to wait another month for the 'real' trailer.
