ok. uninstall then go to the folder you installed vice city in (eg C:\program files\rockstar games\grand theft auto vice city\) and delete the entire folder named grand theft auto vice city. then reinstall. then post back if the problem is still there. otherwise maybe your disc is corrupted

get the original admiral back...im pretty sure this will fix it. although i remember this happening, and then later on i started a new game just for the fun of it with this mod installed, and nothing happened (diaz didnt die). i assume vice city 2007 is a script mod (main.scm), so you cant go get a savefile off the net. lolz i know how you feel, i had this mod too (ultimate vice city + spaceeinstein mod not vice city 2007), and the same thing happens , all the time. he doesnt actually get trampled, he gets out of the car, then falls over. then is on the ground and says he died. so you have 3 options: use imgtool and put back the original admiral (admiral.txd, admiral.dff, admiral.col and appropriate handling.cfg , carcols.dat, default.ide entries) OR try starting a new game and get up to that mission, it may or may not do the same thing i cant guarantee, but for me he didnt die the second time round... OR find another car that replaces admiral (i had chrysler 300C and he didnt die with that) edit..I think why he didnt die the second time round is that, i replaced the nissan skyline with a chrysler 300C before i started a new game.

^ good explanation. but uhh the thing is, he has a laptop, so its not as simple as checking if you have ddr ram on a desktop, since desktop you just take off one side of the case, but laptop would be a whole lot harder i would imagine... i doubt he would have DDR3, is that even in laptops yet?

ddr is double data rate, just a type of ram. ddr2 is a newer version of it..basically to figure it out, when did you buy your laptop, that will probably help determine whether its DDR or DDR2. i got mine in xmas 2006, it has DDR2 667MHz , when did you get yours?

booster, what res do you run SA at? jappe, i think you will be able to run at least on low settings boringg yeah you might be able to play with that video card, but yeah a upgrade will let you play at higher res, better quality etc

dude. if your graphics is intel, dont even think about trying to play lol. cos its not gonna happen. no offence meant but, yeh. someone (i think chris82) mentioned that if you cant play gta san andreas on max settings then you def. wont be able to play gta IV. sucks that its a laptop, otherwise you coulda upgraded it.

@eddie-kun.. ur processor looks good, but 8500GT isnt gonna let you play upgrade to a 8800 gt or a good radeon card (4850 or somethin) @Cjfromsanandreas i dunno man, laptop graphics (especially that) isnt all that great. you have the same CPU as me but yeah i dont think it'l work. @linezero not with a 9550 dude, the other stuff is ok. you need to upgrade your video card

you can put another gb of ram in your laptop, laptop uses so-dimm usually, you just have to find out if its ddr or ddr2 it'd be abit harder than for a desktop of course, and yes it will make your warranty invalid, so check with the manufacturer, maybe you can send it to them to have 1gb added, and you keep your warranty lol farhan do you ever think before you click post?

hmm alot of arguments with the whole god vs science thing...im gonna stay out of that. although yeah i do wonder, like llama said, ironic that to find out how we were created or whatever it will kill us...freaky well nothing bad has happened... the first post, that map looks liek you googled a map and then put it in paint and drew some circles...honestly.

its probably hidden somewhere inside your registry. first boot into safemode (keep pressing f8 at startup and a menu will come up, choose safe mode and press enter) to find it, open regedit (start > run > regedit) and browse this way HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run so hkey_local_machine is the top level, then expand that and find software, expand and find microsoft etc etc. then look if theres anything sus in there. bsaically trojans will (from my experience) have really weird names...like hhafkngn.exe ... or they could be disguised as a windows file eg svchosts.exe (which should be svchost.exe) so have a good look. another probably easier way (lol just thought of it), is make sure you have admin privileges, then press start > run. and type msconfig. now you see a system configuration utility. now click the startup tab, and then go look for anything suss there. make sure you do all that in safe mode (on startup, keep pressing f8 after you turn the power on, then a menu will come up, choose safe mode and press enter) until you do that, i recomend creating a account with no admin privileges, just limited user or whatever. and use that for your day to day usage, till you go to safemode and do the stuff i wrote above. good luck oh and get rid of norton, and get AVG from download.com
