  1. I remember that time when the world was meant to end then. If it does then that eliminates my debts. I guess Hollywood makes alot of money making these paranoia films, like Day After Tomorrow. Many things seem to be occuring in 2012. The date the world is meant to end is 22nd Decemeber 2012.
  2. I used to love Home Improvment on the Disney Channel with Tim Allen. I have managed to get it on dvd.
  3. The theories originate from the Aztec's, they said that the world has ended I think 4 times but is reborn again with new life only not as basic and more spiritual. They predicted that the next time this would happen is 2012. So the theory has been around for a long time.
  4. I would personally love it to be France. I have never liked the idea of London. But Paris would be great. No idea what the clue is saying though.
  5. I loved Tom and Jerry, yes it was incredibly violent but it was great. I hate what BBC has done to all the old cartoons that I loved like Fireman Sam and Postman Pat. They are all 3D and computerised now and its horrible. I like my cartoons and Disney films to be fuzzy around the edges with them announcing that its in Technicolour. I love Disney, but none of this new crap they show, its all about the good ones like The Rescuers and Beauty and the Beast.
  6. I'm guessing there is no award for hottest female this year. Wait there should I would probably be the only nominee so I would win muaha.
  7. I loved the Rugrats, they were my favourite until they did all grown up which was appalling. I used to love the Disney Channel back when it was decent. I got so excited when they would put on a film at 7pm. I used to like Recess and Boy Meets World.
  8. I'm going to close this topic. As Spaz said this game is old news. Jezz Torrent this is about discussing and debating, there is no need to verbally attack someone because they dont agree with you.
  9. I would have liked to learn about the other religious holidays in the winter. It would have been nice, then again we never learnt much. We learnt about Muslims and then watched the Terminator. Its very strange.
  10. This discussion forum has changed since it used to be 'Serious Chat', and 'Current Affairs' before that. Content This subforum is for actual discussions - that means where members reply to each other about their opinion. The discussions range from serious (news/politics/religion) to interesting things (seen in the news or online) to casual discussions (opinions). Any simple lists such as "What is your favourite XYZ" should be put into Fun & Random. Anything general that isn't a debate/discussion probably goes in the Members' Lounge instead. Anything about Music, Films, TV or Sports should be put in there. Rules There is a difference between a debate and an argument. If you disagree with someone, discuss it with them to see why they feel differently to you. You might be able to reach an agreement or compromise; or you might not. People are different and are entitled to have their own opinion (even if it is different to yours). You are entitled to your own opinion, unless it is blatently offensive. Racist, homophobic or similar comments will be removed and result in formal action being taken. Swearing is tolerable in small measures (for exclamation - "how the f*** did that happen") - however there is a limit of what is reasonable. Swearing at someone ("f*** you") is not permitted. This subforum is for discussions and debates. You don't have to write an essay every time, but short pointless posts do not belong here. If you don't have anything useful to contribute, please don't make a useless post. Have fun. Bear
  11. I think you hit the nail on the head there. If abortion was banned we would be back in the 1950s were women had abortions with a knitting needle which usually killed the mother. In the UK people have no excuse, contraception is free, the pill and condoms are free.
  12. Aw wee ones, when I hope that plan goes well. 9 years, well done. Well sadly for me I do have a thing for geeky guys, my uni is mainly sports people so I am a bit screwed. I may be transferring next year so fingers crossed for then. An academic uni would be nice not a sports one.
  13. Well many schools don't do the Nativity Play anymore as its offensive to other religons apprantly. So many people have the memory of standing on stage with a tea towel on their head trying to remember the lines, while many children have wet themselves or got bored and ran off. I played a sheep. I just wish it wasn't so commercial, people who put up their lights in November piss me off so much. I think Christmas can be a lovely time and as a child its so magical. I just think children should know the story of the birth of Jesus.
  14. There are so many religious holidays at this time. A friend of mine got yelled at for saying Happy Holidays to people as she had quite a fewish Jewish people in her class and didn't want to exclude them. This Christian girl yelled at her saying Christmas is the only holiday in December and that she is being disrespectful. I remember seeing on the news this child was asked what is Christmas? Why do we celebrate? The child said "Christmas is to celebrate Jesus' death. I felt like banging my head on wall. How have these kids not been in a nativity play with a tea towel on their head.
  15. Now we are coming up to Christmas, you see kids who think Jesus helps Santa in his grotto (scary I know). Do you all think Christmas has become too commercial? Should we go back to the religious meaning of Christmas? I think we need to go back and bring the religious elements of Christmas back, I personally love the nativity story.
  16. Hey everyone. I am the new Forum Boss for this subforum. I am here to do the following: 1.Lead discussions 2.Manage pinned topics 3.Close dead or counter-productive topics 4.Moderate other users' posts (as per the Forum Rules) 5.Help people not to argue as much, we want debates but there is no need to be nasty. If anyone has any suggestions leave them here and we can discuss what topics we would like in this forum or any other ideas. Also if there are any problems just PM me.
  17. I dont believe in abortions when they are in the second term as they are properly formed babies. However in the first term then abortions are OK if there strong reasons. I don't agree with women who use abortions as birth control, some sadly do. But adoption isn't the ultimate answer.

    Forum Bosses

I would like to be a boss for Serious chat, but I think I am too late.
  19. I'm not pro-abortion, I'm pro-choice. I would probably not have an abortion myself except in an extreme situation.... However, I do not believe that this is enough to dictate the rest of the world into doing exactly what I do. If anyone wishes to twist what I just said in order to shove a finger at me and yell "MURDER SUPPORTER!", go ahead. But I clearly only support a singular individual's right to choose. Same here, I am pro choice. I don't like abortions but sometimes they do need to happen. There are situations where the mother just can't have the baby. Also adoption isn't always the answer.
  20. I'm not sure if its the lack of GTA news. I joined before there was any news about GTA4 and a while after SA was released and the forum was very active. I only joined because I wanted a to look at Wish list's and I have now been here three and a half years.
  21. We have loads of sex ed over here, yet it keeps on happening.
  22. I like the suprise, I always refuse money for Christmas as I just feel its depressing just to open a card with money in. Also I get even more excited about giving people presents.
  23. I used to play piano very well, I would teach myself most songs and play them in music classes. I started the violin but my hands are so crappy that I couldnt hold it very long in the end. I sing but I am rubbish. So I sing when I am slightly worse for wear.
  24. Sometimes abortion is the only option. In the first few weeks the baby is just a bean, no pain to be felt. I don't agree with women who use abortion as birth control (yes some people are really that stupid) or aborting a baby at 5 months because they don't want it anymore. But there are cases where abortion is the only option. I think an eleven year old who is pregnant should have an abortion, why punish a baby who would probably have a crappy upbringing and not much of a life. Think at 19 the child would be 7 that is just wrong. I know someone who came from a teen pregancy (Mum was 16) but she is at uni, she is a lucky one though.
