  1. I'd love to see vastly improved pool, as well as other sport's games you can play in-game, including kart racing!! :D

Oh, and I hope that theme park works. I'd love to get in a rollercoaster, and then start firing off a gun so people are screaming even more lol. And dodgems and stupid stuff like that.

  2. Well, it's ok. I went out and spent £200 (ouch) on a new case, fans (it's got 4 fans now), new zalman heatsink and fan (NEVER EVER buy one of those unless you have a team of experts to install it for you!) oh and never buy Akasa case fans because the screws DON'T FIT!!! And I got a new PSU. So after about 5 hours lol of fiddling with the damn thing, I got it working!!

New temperature readings running idle in windows gives me:

    System: 28C

    Core: 36C

:D Thankgod for that, still got to see what happens when I run Oblivion lol.

  3. Jace, the simple fact is we can't see enough of other planets to know whether they can host life similar to our own. This article backs that up:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/5325476.stm

But the point I was trying to make, is that we assume all life must function in the same manner of ours. Scientists don't look for evidence of life (mainly because they can't), they look for planets that basically could host humans. That's flawed, because it works under the assumption that all life MUST exist as ours does, they must require the same elements and temperatures to survive. I personally think there is life out there that survives totally differently, we cannot assume ours is the only type. At the end of the day, no "aliens" have ever been proven, it is all speculation, even the scientists and astronomers looking into it are just speculating, there is no way of knowing until we discover inter-stellar or even inter-galactic travel. Even that, I mean there are people on the forum saying "there is no way you can go to another planet because it will take too long" - well obviously, even at the speed of light (the absolute fastest propulsion-based travel could go) it would take too long. Therefore non-propulsion-based travel must be considered.

There is a theory that there are many dimensions - one of them I think the 7th dimension where everything in the universe is at one point, could be used to travel anywhere in the universe, a bit far-fetched and just a theory. Another one is that black holes are worm holes, taking you to distant places. Some are even trying to find out how to make black holes (that is gonna go SOOO wrong) to try it, but we are centuries, probably milleniums off that kind of technology. Chances are, that some other lifeform knows how to travel around the universe, and it's probably in a way we never expected or could never understand. And if they are milleniums ahead of us - I mean, would we really stop for long to look at cavemen or monkeys? I doubt it. Who knows, many of the "UFO" sightings could just be alien nature shows recording us lol!

    Again, all theory.

  4. lol buddy. Trust me, don't worry about loosing your virginity as quickly as possible - find the right woman and loose it to her, then you can worry about sleeping round with women. There's nothing worse than crap sex with a clueless woman (like say ALL the girls at college or uni) lol.

Anyway, back to my pc: an Update!

I took the heatsink off, CPU looks fine. Cleaned it, applied some Arctic Silver 5 stuff, put it back on. Now the PC is staying on, but an idle CPU temperature of 48C and system temp of 37 (or 29, i don't quite know which reading is which on the temperature monitor). I read a topic and apparently they shouldn't really go more than 45C and should idle at 25C, so....I'm gonna go out, buy a new case, new PSU, use some big case fans i got in the cupboard, and see what happens. If it's still too hot then it'll be a new heatsink. I really don't want to go water-cooling, that's WAY too complicated and water + electricity? It'd just all go so wrong if I did it! Anyway, wish me good luck!

  5. Jace, yes lol I am. And it used to run fine, what I don't get is why all of a sudden it's running at a higher temperature, I mean something must have caused it, right? It's been fine for months.

Spaz - actually, now that you say that I tried to take the heatsink off yesterday to clean it but couldn't pull it off.........I better try it now, if it's melted i'm going to kill someone.

  6. That has to be one of the best fakes I've seen man, nice one! Except you should have removed the blue glow around your jeans lol.

Seriously tho, that must have taken ages!!! Can tell the second lampost is a little fake too ;) but wow just the same!

  7. Yes, you have a point about the people being more realistic over the ground and stuff, I just felt it was a little late for them to use euphoria in the game given it hasn't been that long since rockstar said they'd use euphoria in some next-gen games. But I would have thought, that GTA would have been a massive endorsement for eurphoria, and they'd mention they're using it straight away. But, I guess we'll find out!

  8. Thanks ;) no good if i can't use it tho!! But could it be that the CPU was overheated too much and is semi-frazzled? Or do you think its alright it's just running too hot for whatever reason? I do leave it running for a LOT of hours a day.

Actually I'm getting "3.3V" as 0V from my temperature program, maybe that means something, I don't know what 3.3V is used for, if anything, if it even exists on my system.

  9. Right, i've totally edited this thread now: I've figured out what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it.

This is the system I'm running:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 @ 2.66GHz

    ASUS P5N32-SLI SE DELUXE Motherboard

Everything used to run fine, but all of a sudden the CPU is overheating when just running idle in windows or even just on bootup, causing it to crash and become unstable in windows. I think some auto-BIOS thing is rebooting it when it gets too hot, which is fair enough really. Now I've checked all the fans are working which they are, but sat idle in safe mode I get the following temperatures:

    CPU Core 1: 55C

    CPU Core 2: 56C

    System: 42C

Clearly, there is an issue here.

I've opened it, cleaned it of dust almost completely, only to find no change.

Therefore, what do you all think is wrong?

I think it could be one of the following, but please if someone has an idea, let me know!!!!!!

-PSU could be broken - the fan on it is working but maybe it isn't providing the right voltages?

-Heatsink could somehow be broken. I don't really know how.

-Thermal paste between heatsink and CPU could have somehow got corrupted or damaged.

-Thermometer sensors are broken and given a higher reading than they should, so my PC is shutting itself down because it thinks its too hot.

And that's all I can think of. Room temperature is at about 21C here, so obviously how the hell i'm getting 42C after a minute or two inside is beyond me! But please. Help! Thanks people.

  10. Nice-ish feature, however, it isn't going to happen. The songs in GTA are all in one massive file (if i'm not mistaken) with compression and copy-right etc etc, it takes a lot of skill to hack them. If they released single-tracks for PS3 or X360, almost anybody could probably rip the songs, and I seriously doubt the record companies would ever allow that. What would be allowed is a full radio station in the standard gta format, however that would take several centuries to download, maybe, in any case I seriously doubt it.

What they'll probably end up doing is allowing you to hook up your iPod via USB and some Apple to PS3 thing so you can listen to your music tracks whilst playing GTA, it'd be like the Custom radio station basically.

  11. I've studied UFOs for YEARS, argued with people one hell of a lot on the ol' pravda forums (if anyone knows that), so if you want to know what's happening, read my stupidly-long post. Youtube videos are NOT the ultimate source of truth, and claimed "leaks" are usually bull. however documentary video footage of US troops taking nazi technologies and blueprints for flying saucers after the fall of the nazis IS good evidence. I've seen it. If I could remember the damn documentary's name, i would. In any case it'll be on some discovery-style channel i'm sure!

  12. tilly, I don't think that would be possible. The content is termed as "episodic content" -- the only thing that suggests is new missions, nothing else, and I don't think it would be possible to mod the game any further than that on a console. Graphics, physics, scrpiting is never going to be changeable, that can only be improved upon in later games.

  13. Spaz is right on both accounts there - "you got that?" is terrible english, doesn't need to be there.

And certainly there is no evidence that you will be able to contact contacts by email. Just a hint at it, when Dan Houser said "There's talking [in person], cell phones, and a bunch of other ways of giving the player information." --Quote from the GameInformer mag.

  14. Actually that storyline sounds pretty believable to me, and I'm older than you guys. Why exactly doesn't it sound real?

Look what I found!!!!!!!!!! Could it be a little hint as to what is going to happen?

    Dan Houser:

"You still meet people, get missions by them, and if you do well they will help you. Or they may stab you in the back."

    ^^From Gameinformer Mag.

So what do you reckon? Was he trying to hint at the storyline "ijustwannatalk" is telling us?

  15. Well, I hope you are right! Obviously nobody here can properly believe you without hard fact - ie: unseen screenshots or a video....BUT, if you are right about a)gta3 and vice for Wii....cool! and b)You get to change to play Roman, then totally awesome!! Would be a total twist on the game.

  16. hahaha, what a great thread!

Well.....you take potatoes, some varieties are better than others but something red and big.

    1. Take big red potatoes

    2. Peel and wash them

    3. Use a slicer (only way buddy) to cut them seriously thin

    4. Deep-fry them (read up in your native language how to deep-fry, it can be a genuinley dangerous thing if you haven't got a clue)

    5. Call the fire brigade when the house sets on fire.....OR if by some miracle it doesn't

    6. Take them out when they look golden-brown and shake them a bit to get off some of the fat.

    7. Place them on a tea towel or something that you don't mind throwing away but is absorbant and won't stick to them.

    8. Straight after taking them out, shake salt, very-finely grated cheese (cheddar cheese is probably best), or whatever flavour you want on, in an extremely fine powder form but make sure it is EDIBLE.

    9. Let em cool then eat!

    Hope that helps!

  17. First of all, I don't know how many of you watch documentaries, but for those of you that don't know, the nazis were developing technology that could have allowed flight using a silent flying saucer (I believe, I can't really remember the documentary too well now unfortunately) -- the USA got the vast majority of this technology when they took down the Nazis, and I can only imagine have been developing it further ever since. That would of course explain the post-war "peak" of UFO sightings, that would continue on (albeit at a reduced rate) up to today and beyond. Unquestionable footage of UFO activity in the skies exists, I believe the last one was in Mexico, somewhere near a US air base of some nature. And nobody should be surprised at the knowledge that the US is developing technology that we currently aren't familiar with, hence...UFO.

Now, as for extra-terrestrials (sp?), there is no convincing evidence that they are currently, or have ever, visited this planet. There are some interesting pictures and drawings from centuries ago and from some past civilisations (the egyptians in particular), however no actual accounts of anything "alien".

Do extra-terestrials exist out there in the universe? Most probably, yes, it wouldn't make scientific sense if they didn't, unless our understanding of what exactly we are seeing when we look into space is crucially flawed. Why haven't they visited? that is one giant assumption right there.....that they think in the same manner we do. You must realise, all living things on this planet originated from the same amoeba (i think that's what they're called), evolved in different ways, and hence why we all grow, have a concept of time, have our ways of living etc etc. Now other planets or habitable moons out there (or other places where life of any form could grow) may not work in the same way as us. They may not be anything like us at all. In fact, they may exist without us even knowing it, there could be life on Mercury or Venus for example, and we wouldn't know because we have an extremely narrow opinion that all life has to exist exactly as we do, which is intensely short-sighted. So why haven't they visited? The chances are, if there is another specie out there aware of our existance, rather than them being "scared of us" as some members suggested, it is far more likely that they are too intelligent to consider us remotely useful - would you stop to look at bacteria or a flock of flies because they were on a different patch of ground? However, there could well be specie here with us NOW.....ghosts anybody? poltergeists? demons etc? Mythology that has existed from the start of recorded life to today, perhaps an indication of a lifeform we do not understand that is here and generally causing us mayhem from time to time, that we explain away in our own ways. In the end, nobody knows, not yet.....

On the issue of religion...I'm a Christian, and I think Genesis and the entire Old Testament is bull. You know why? Because I'm a CHRISTian - you know what that means? You follow CHRIST, not moses's insane ramblings, not the stories of massacres and baby-bashing, not ridiculous stories about how everything was created in 7 days....Did Jesus ever say "follow the teachings of Moses?" No. He didn't. And his teachings conflict with the sick travesty of a book that is the Old Testament. And in fact, in all honesty, Jesus is the closest thing we have to an "extra-terrestrial", after all he was lifted into the heavens by angels.........who knows? In any case, the idea that aliens means no religion, just shows the stupidity of the teachers that said that to the member here. I bet they think Jesus taught us to go to church and pray in public too, ha, some people.

Anyway, a summary of my overkill post:

UFOs are US aircraft using ex-nazi technology. Aliens exist only in outerspace but maybe here as well in forms we don't recognise. Jesus was good and Christians can believe in aliens, too. People are ignorant.
