fatalgamer
It would suck if they released it for PC and gave it more stuff than the console version. Also you know it would have to be a Windows Live game.
YellowJacket
I don't think it will happen anytime soon but I wouldn't rule it out. If they want to take advantage of getting more cash, I'm sure they'll find a way to release it to the PC.
Spaz The Great
I highly dought it. If they were going to release it for the PC, would'nt they have already announced it? Maybe not? All of the GTA's since 3 have been on PC, I also if I am correct.. Gta 2 was even on PC wasn't it? I know it was on PS1 too The ORIGINAL GTA STARTED on the PC.... By the time GTA IV is released on the PC, I will have a more powerful, faster computer with a better GFX card than I already have. All of the GTA's since 3 have been on PC, I also if I am correct.. Gta 2 was even on PC wasn't it? I know it was on PS1 too GTA2 I believe wasn't released for the PS1, only the Dreamcast. Yeah it was, first, infact. I had GTA 2 for the Playstation before Dreamcast came out. Um the game is on Blu Ray because its huge. How will computers read a Blu Ray disc if they don't have Blu Ray players? You cant put Blu Ray shit on one CD because there isn't enough space. A PC release wouldn't make sense. Why buy 10 CDs and install the game to your hard drive and waste 50 gigs of space? Blu Ray players for the PC probably cost a fortune if they exist yet. Bluray players ARE out, buddy. And GTA IV won't be 50GBs...... A DVD wont hold GTA4 dude. How can a DVD hold 50 gigs? It cant. Again, GTA IV won't be 50GBs...... I know that there is a lot of PC gamers out ther but a seriously think a PC version will never come out. By the time it does/if comes out in 2009, people will probably buy a consolve rather than vista. I will be very surprised if it comes to pc. Dude, again, you don't know near as much about the gaming industry as you think you do. Whats with the big hype for GTA4 anyways? Old town, ugly character and from todays fact, it looks like a shitty storyline aswell The "old town" = BEST GTA location to date, only WAY IMPROVED and detailed. Who the hell cares about an "ugly character"? Most the GTA characters have been ugly.... And you know NOTHING about the storyline except the very beginning. Which doesn't look "shitty". So in essence, a few of you need to stop being douches... Yes, I believe we'll see it on PC.
Kitsune Inferno
A DVD wont hold GTA4 dude. How can a DVD hold 50 gigs? It cant. Dude, fuck Blu-ray. San Andreas takes up only 3GB and Oblivion takes up 6GB. Blu-ray isn't all that great, man.
MishoM
A DVD wont hold GTA4 dude. How can a DVD hold 50 gigs? It cant. Dude, fuck Blu-ray. San Andreas takes up only 3GB and Oblivion takes up 6GB. Blu-ray isn't all that great, man. Fuck Blu-Ray? Why? It's needed. All of my DVD's look like trash on my HDTV. My Blu-Ray movies look amazing. GTA IV may not be 50GB's, Oblivion may not be 50GB's, but Pirates Of The Caribbean is 50+GB's. (It uses two disks.) And yes, its awesome, better than HD-DVD at least. Anyway, I think we all know GTA IV is coming to the PC.
Kitsune Inferno
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't want to start anything bad. But yeah, I said, "Fuck Blu-ray." How exactly is it needed? Why, so we could watch a movie in HD? Big whoop, DVDs look fine on my 52-inch RCA front-projection HDTV. I really don't want to see every sweat drop in "glorious" high definition. I'm sorry, if a movie needs to be in HD to look good, it's not worth it. Oh, and to be on topic, I'm guessing a June 2009 release date for the PC version. tilly
^pwnage^ i guess if bluray cds were just as much as hd dvds or the player was much cheaper, then i might actually buy it. lol i have a old sony projection screen in my family room which i watch most of the stuff on. i also have a 30 dollar dvd player. and a jvc vhs player. yeah im oldschool. If you need MANY more reasons, go to any one of the many websites dedicated to both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. (And I would also like to not argue on the matter, so lets just leave it at that shall we? You don't need it, and I do.) And those are exactly my thoughts on when a PC version of the game could be released.

Seeing as how the game is on the Xbox 360, wouldn't you think I'm talking about the movie? And there is more than that significance, umm what about 1080p? And did I say "we all" needed it? No. If your fine with your DVD's, fine, I don't give a shit. I, and many others, would rather have our movies in high-definition. Please, stop trying to make an argument. Me and WnN2 settled are little dispute, and now your just trying to make an argument over a personal opinion. I don't care if you don't like Blu-Ray, I do. Spaz The Great
Um, At World's End was released for ALL THREE current consoles, PS2, PSP, DS, and PC...... So it wasn't exactly obvious you were talking about the movie.

Spaz The Great
Because I've never heard of a movie that was 50+ GBs? And of them, Pirates? And how exactly would you know it was 50+ GBs? Furthermore, if it's on TWO DISCS, the MOVIE isn't 50+ GBs, for a LOT of that would be EXTRA FEATURES.

Disk one is a 50GB Blu-Ray disk so most of it is most likely taken up. But for EVERYTHING, the special features (which are awesome BTW) 50+GB's is needed. Red_91
wouldnt the movie have to be like 15 hours long to be 50 gb? Not always but I remember getting James Bond Casino Royale in the post from PlayStation adn it is good. It was a proper blu-ray movie and all that and very good but I dont know how much GB it was but it couldn't be more than 25GB since it was a single layer blu ray disc. Dunno about POC: AWE? Mishom you sure it was 50GB?
MishoM
wouldnt the movie have to be like 15 hours long to be 50 gb? No, not at all. All the upscaling making the movie 1080p, all the improved audio and what not, all this adds up to make the movies extremely big in size.
Red_91
I guess thats why Blu-ray is getting a lot of backing, BlockBuster being the main ones. I still think blu-ray will win over HD-DVD. Though both are good I can see why people dislike blu-ray becasue of its price.
tommy vercetti guy
will rockstar even bother porting gtaIV to pc? It will, just like 3, VC and SA
Pandora
Must have missed this topic.. Anyway, I'm 90% sure they will. It's not 'would they bother'. They aren't trying to do us a favor, they just want money. Port to PC = Profit Simple. Can't see any reason why they wouldn't. And maybe MS might even pay them to port it to.... VISTA! It would suck that it would be a Vista only, but at least it's playable for PC.
Mpilk901
I'm sure Blu-Ray will make sense in the future as we'll all need more space for stuff. e.g: Computers use to have like 32kb for it's memory, then it went to 20mb - 40mb (40mb was a HUGE amount of space for computers) and now we have like 80gb - 120gb. I'm sure it will all make sense in the future but for now it's a bit of a pointless jump. I mean 4.7 to 25 gigs? It's pretty stupid... Even though I have a PS3 Anyway back on-topic! I still doubt that it will use DirectX10... And it should be able to run on XP.
Kitsune Inferno
Anyway back on-topic! I still doubt that it will use DirectX10... And it should be able to run on XP. Bold: It better. Italics: I've heard that DirectX 10 only works on Vista. And just the same, most people probably would've have upgraded to Vista by the time GTA 4 would be ported. Oh, and I'm guessing 1080p isn't that much of a jump from 720p. Then again, I don't even know the maximum resolution of my 52-inch RCA HDTV. However, that's mainly because I don't care about it. I've heard Vista isn't very good, it can't run some of the programs as XP can etc. But lets not get into all that again. Yeh but when you think about, so little games have needed DirectX10 so why should GTAIV need it? There's been games which have some very impressive graphics for the computer and they didn't need DX10. I don't think the system requirements will be that you have to have Vista because for example, I can run C&C3 on my VERY old Sony laptop and it's properties are: -Intel® Celeron® CPU 2.80GHz 2.78GHz, 448MB of RAM, 40GB HD (Sorry it's not organised, I copied it from System Properties.)
