mutu
I've heard that you are able to put your own soundtracks into the game.
azn
I hope you can, I have a lot of my own songs that I'll enjoy listening to while cruising through Liberty City
rockstarrem
Of course on the 360 you can always play it from the mini dashboard.
Cross
just use a lpayer and turn the music in the game off and if you want it to feel like its truely from the game you can glue the player to the screen
Mpilk901
Of course on the 360 you can always play it from the mini dashboard. Stop showing off Oh well thats a shame, it would be cool if a patch came out though so it picks random songs of your music list and plays it through a custom radio or it had the option so you could select a playlist from the PS3 to play through the custom radio. Then I would have a reason to put music on my PS3! Edited April 26, 2008 by FallenClyro
rockstarrem
The PS3 doesn't have an option to listen to music in game?
Mpilk901
The PS3 doesn't have an option to listen to music in game? Nope, no in-game XMB (yet). I heard they can't do it right now because of the PS3's RAM (256mb compared to the 360's 512mb). Kind of a disadvantage for the PS3 because you can't check your inbox either without quiting the game, it does tell you though when you get a message or someone signs in. Some games have it though so I don't see why GTAIV can't. Edited April 26, 2008 by FallenClyro
rockstarrem
The PS3 only has 256 mb of ram? WTF? My computer has 2 GB. Do you mean video ram or ram?
Dr.Dbl-Gee
That sucks but perhaps they will make a system update which will be like the Xbox dashboared but still i dont think its a bad ram because: 256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz -CPU 256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz-GPU ps3 256 mb ram CPU ram operates at 3.2 GHz. 360's 512mb shared ram operates at 700 MHz. It operates faster. Edited April 26, 2008 by Dr.Dbl-Gee
Mpilk901
The PS3 only has 256 mb of ram? WTF? My computer has 2 GB. Do you mean video ram or ram? Err... I don't know. But something in the PS3 has 256mb of ram Before you start judging the PS3, don't worry. All my games run so smooth and games don't slow down when alot is happening at once. EDIT: I'm not actually 100% sure about the whole ram thing, I'll look it up now. Edited April 26, 2008 by FallenClyro

Mpilk901
I'm not a fanboy dude don't worry, just was surprised. I wasn't meaning it that way. Oh and I don't really know what this means, found it on a PS3 Wiki page. "The PlayStation 3 has 256 MB of XDR main memory and 256 MB of GDDR3 video memory for the RSX." Dr.Dbl-Gee
Yes it does run at 256 but still it has optimal performance (operates faster then a PC and an 360 --> Proven) Im not being fanboyish, this is just general info.
