Chris
Take Two have today released their Second Quarter Fiscal 2008 Financial Results, revealing that they've already managed to sell over 8.5 million copies of Grand Theft Auto IV since it's release just over a month ago. Along with all the stats and other data was a small statement saying that "in order to provide a better balance in Take-Two's release schedule", the first episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV has been pushed back and will now be released during the first quarter of Take Two's Fiscal 2009 year - that means somewhere between November 1st 2008 and January 31st 2009 - still allowing for a possible Christmas release. Kitsune Inferno
Maybe I'll get an Xbox Original game to tide me over until the DLC's released.
Red_91
I think the DLC may have been delayed because their is only 8.5 million copies sold, I dont think thats enough yet. Plus R* usually release games around the Christmas time anyway.
DBturbo
Yes I tkink it will be released in december before christmas to get people buying.
mutu
I just read this on another website. This is bad news for R* and Take-Two since Saint Row 2 get released in July or August. Well...let's hope it can be a christmas present instead.
Chris
Nah it's just for portfolio balancing. Basically, they have absolutely no games coming out in that period, so they pushed the DLC into it and now have a release for the period.
Urbanoutlaw
I think the DLC may have been delayed because their is only 8.5 million copies sold, I dont think thats enough yet. Plus R* usually release games around the Christmas time anyway. ONLY 8.5 million in the first month? You think big, I'll give you that. Pretty sure sales numbers aren't the cause of the delay (admittedly, I only skimmed the article). On the positive side, I noticed reference to Bioshock coming out for the PS3. Not a Fanboy
What is DLC?
Urbanoutlaw
(If Noru didn't beat me to it) Downloadable Content, what MS paid R*/TT $50 million for. More cars/missions/etc for the game.
Not a Fanboy
Is DLC free since you already paid for the game?
Urbanoutlaw
Sometimes, depends on what it is. MS paid a big chunk for this so it will probably cost you (XBL points) The DLCs are rumored to be between VC & SA in size (big).
Not a Fanboy
I hate Xbox live.... This is why video games are going down...
Urbanoutlaw
XBL isn't so bad, sometimes they have free stuff like for Crackdown, The Godfather & Saint's Row, but they want points for the really good stuff.
Not a Fanboy
I really dont like the idea of paying MS on top of an ISP. I pay for my internet. Online gaming should be free.
Urbanoutlaw
I'll give you that one, but at least you don't have to subscribe for the game itself on top of XBL. I'm out, later.
Kitsune Inferno
Broz, are you so broke that you can't afford the five dollars a month for XBL? Just joking, but I seriously don't understand why you think the way you do.
Artur
Aww a delay? Kinda bad I guess, I'll have plenty of games to entertain myself in the mean time.
Urbanoutlaw
Should allow just enough time to wring out Saint's Row 2 (Aug, I think) before revisiting Liberty.
Not a Fanboy
Broz, are you so broke that you can't afford the five dollars a month for XBL? Just joking, but I seriously don't understand why you think the way you do. I dont have a credit card and the point is I shouldnt pay someone who is already rich, plus my Xbox is modded so I cant get online anyways. Go Kai! Urbanoutlaw
Bummer about the modded box, if you get another one you can go to Wal-Mart (YAY EVIL EMPIRE!) & buy XBL credits for cash. I think $20 (US) will get 1600 points, that should be able to get you on.
