  1. What service pack do you have in your XP install? An early version of XP (prior to Service Pack 1; the version released circa 2001-2002) would be crapshoot for your GTA: SA game, since R* recommends upgrading to Service Pack 2. Here's the link for the SP2 upgrade if you like: http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html. Here's how: Look for the My Computer icon; it can be located either on your desktop or the Start menu (depending on your rig's configuration). Right-click it, and then click on Properties. You will see some lines of text in there, that tell you about your Windows version, the guys who made the PC for you (if present), and as I said earlier, the Service packs installed. The Vista version may look similar to this (this was taken from the Beta build, it may differ from the retail versions): A messed up registry may also cause problems, since the San Andreas executable may involve reading/writing stuff to the registry. If you have another PC at home, try reproducing the problem. If SA works on the second rig, then your PC might have some problems, or doesn't meet the game's requrements, like video card memory too low, or something like that. You can buy a decent card for a reasonable price.
  2. Nice, I've never seen so much variety before when it comes to using cellphones in a videogame. Maybe if R* would have considered getting a license from Nokia and use the Finnish communications firm's high-end models, like the Nokia N95 or the N93i (pictures below), that would be better, since Nokia phones were featured in so many music videos, why not in GTA 4? Nokia N95 Nokia N93i
  3. Thanks for the comments... To answer Nate10's question, I've been a Madeline fan since I was little, so that's why I came up with that box art. Anyway, please check out my Splinter Cell pic...
  4. For making 3D models, Milkshape and a bunch of conversion tools are necessary. Textures can be taken care of via Photoshop (7.0 or later). And try to improve your grammar, kid...
  5. Yeah, but I won't be able to start this yet, until I find an easy way to buy at eBay...
  6. Would it be interesting if I or someone would make a GTA-style diorama or something? I thought of a humorous concept (1:10 scale or something), like Barbie, Disney Princess or Shirley Temple dolls for the pedestrian girls, some Star Wars/Splinter Cell action figures, and a Ken doll dressed as Vercetti, carjacking civilians.
  7. It's still under construction, though, since I'm too busy whipping that one up... Don't worry, I'll fix that... EDIT: Like my GTA Photoshop, huh? Feel free to distribute that pic...
  8. It's still under construction, but I hope you guys check out my site: http://lpgunitmusic.110mb.com It's a comedy music site, but I'll include a personal page, a wiki and some GTA stuff; feel free to suggest and contribute to my site...
  9. Woah, it looks like this GTSS thing's happening in the future... Who's the protagonist, an alien Vercetti? Heheh...
  10. But I don't have the money for that, and if I ask you guys for warez downloads, you might nuke my account. Besides, my computer's not really that powerful enough to do such laborous stuff...
  11. I've heard in the news that, although the authorities there tout the senatorial election as one of the most peaceful, it came to my attention that there were cases of violence, fraud and stuff in there, such as an election precinct burned by a Molotov cocktail, with two election officers dead (!). It seems that the situation in the elections in the Philippines rivals that of Liberty City, or is it?
  12. I third that. I hate all that twist lick dunk crap. It's a cookie, put it in your mouth and chew. Yeah, agreed on that, too...
  13. OK, another rather weird thread I made; I just want to know, does the world need another style of eating an Oreo cookie, other than the "twist-lick-dunk" strategy, or do we really need a break from all of this Oreo stuff?
  14. My favorite singer, hmm, Justin Timberlake. Is that it?
  15. OK, I know this thread sucked to you guys, I'll probably stick to dissing Michael Jackson...
  16. I already solved the problem for the WMM, but as for obtaining Vegas and Premiere, *illegally*, what do you think this is, a warez site? C'mon...
  17. It's just that some hooligan in my neighborhood messed up my rig...OK, I already fixed the problem...
  18. I already did that; I ran the setup.exe file but it requires admin access to do such operations. Are there any free WMM-like apps available?
  19. Hmm, you don't like my Niko Bellic parody? OK, I'll change it later. As for the "beat up real people" thing, I don't delight in beating up people in real life; I thought of bullying Shirley Temple, Michael Jackson and other celebs in GTA as an experiment, like dropping Rhino tanks at them, doing the big bang, and the regular hurt the innocent pedestrian routine...
  20. But my WMM's broken, and my XP account's a limited one. I can't access the Safe Mode without waiting for an hour for the Scandisk applet to finish...whew!! Any alternatives?
  21. Does anyone here know of a Visual Basic-based GTA clone?, Something that resembles GTA 1/2? Please reply...
  22. I often use Firefox, it's safer than IE, although it crashes more often in my PC, especially when viewing certain graphically-intensive and Flash-enabled pages. Oh well...
