  1. Wouldn't it be easier / better to focus on a single game? The one that matters? And not the one that barely sold as many copies as LA Noire? Just sayin'.

Wouldn't it be better if they supported more than one game?

Anyway, the fact that vehicle importing in Max is now possible makes me excited.

  2. You can mod the ISO and alter the resource files on the game disc, but I don't think that it's worth the effort compared to modding the PC version. Besides the possible legal consequences of it, i.e. using modchips which may be illegal in your jurisdiction, and EULA violations.

  3. Just a couple points I'd like to make. First off, yes, let's make it illegal to own guns, because those criminals are such law-abiding citizens...

Second off, the issue here is most certainly not guns, but mental disorders and how inappropriately they are being handled in this country.

Third off, the 2nd amendment is not about hunters and gun collectors WHAT-SO-EVER. It's about retaining the ability to defend yourself against your own government in case they get out of control.

That's also my point too, as well as what Blacklisted noted out. The lack of values nowadays did seem to account for this, and parents are either too busy or flat-out ignorant about their children's well-being. They just let their kids whine and piss online on Call of Duty while they, the parents themselves, spend way too much time "trying to keep up with the Joneses", as a friend of mine said.

I once heard that census workers had a hard time interviewing people - it's either that they're cussed at when they're asked about who they are and shit, or worse, have a Glock or some twelve-gauge being pointed at the workers' faces.

I wouldn't be surprised to know as to what's wrong with America nowadays.

  4. Not only that I agree with the mental/psychological health reforms, but gun control is more or less useless if Americans don't put family values as a priority. It seems like parents in the US these days tend to overlook on the well-being of their kids, hence the reason why some of them act so stupid nowadays.

I'm still on vacation, so forgive the extra shitty-ness and missing members.. still love all of you all <3 <3

    Happy 10 years you bastards

It's a masterpiece, an avant-garde work of art! Perhaps you should ask the Louvre to have it displayed. :P

  6. We've tried mods like these and to be honest none are as good as IPB's built in Spam Prevention Service. It is actually a lot more effective than you probably realise, without it we would get dozens of spammers registering each day. Right now we only have to deal with a handful each week, so it's not too bad in my opinion. It'll never be completely eradicated anyway.

All we ask is that members like you report any spam you see so myself or the mods can flag them as a spammer as soon as we see it. We only have to click one button to do that. I know you personally report a lot for us which is awesome. :)

Yeah, at least it's a better compromise than ending up like some forums that I visited which were swamped and practically overran by bots.

  7. I almost forgot about that mode, now that you mentioned the XP virtualisation feature. And yeah, even if the power button is there, it really is a hassle to find and hunt that button down, especially if you're just using it for the first time.

  8. Besides that, some of the oft-used options conveniently placed in previous versions of Windows have been tucked away some place else, much to my dismay. Like Safe Mode for example - in versions prior to 8 accessing safe mode or basically any other recovery option is just an F8 away, while in 8 you'll have to reboot after selecting the alternative launch options.

Also, I DO NOT understand the point of having to log off before powering down the system, when I could just hit the Shut down button on the start menu in W7.

The interface isn't that much of a concern if you ask me, but my real concern is that they're moving goalposts every time they make changes to the Windows API, and as such applications written for previous versions would not work, whereas Wine for Linux is able to boot 16-bit Windows applications on 64-bit versions of Linux.

  9. Black people are at the butt of racism because slavery was validated with the lie that they were religiously and socially inferior to white people, and this is a lie that perpetuated even after the abolition of slavery. The Roman empire, when taking continents and countries did so because they were simply more powerful, instead of using race or nationality as some sort of stigma.

Yeah, I get your drift, and I did digress, but still they don't have to resort to, like, killing off homosexuals. Even if they don't exactly agree to gay/lesbian/bi ideals, they shouldn't be treating them just as them blacks themselves have been subjected to as you mentioned. They already know what it felt like being shackled and enslaved - why the bloody fuck would they do the same thing to people who don't actually get in their way?

And good riddance for them being sanctioned for this irrational behaviour. It made Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan sound pedestrian, if you ask me.

  10. For once, Huck is absolutely right!

Windows 8 is made for touchscreens and tablets. That's how it works best, and on those it really is great (once you've figured out the swipes and charms).

But for keyboards and mice, it's hopeless. Yes, there are a bunch of keyboard shortcuts to open up the various menus, but you still have to use silly mouse gestures, and that should NOT be how an operating system works.

The other problem is that SO much of the OS is still in the old-style desktop and old-style control panel. Different settings (even for the same thing, like networking) are spread out across two or three different places. This is hugely confusing for users and totally off-putting for IT pros. Not to mention how hard it is just to shut down!

What was wrong with the start menu? Sure it could have done with a refresh, maybe even a full-screen version, maybe even with live tiles, but the new metro Start screen is useless in comparison. With the start menu, in about half a second I could open up any program, utility or control panel applet, or shut-down, or . Now it's a bunch of faffing around. Even once you have the "hang" of it and use shortcuts, it's still a couple of seconds, and nowhere as intuitive or pleasant to use.

I get the feeling that Windows 8 was designed as a completely separate OS for tablets, but some genius decided to completely replace the tried-and-test Windows 7 system (with start menus etc), and call this tablet OS "Windows 8" in order to drive sales and adoption. Millions of companies will be effectively forced to upgrade to Win8 to benefit from the latest updates and software etc.

I can see why they wouldn't want to make two competing ecosystems, but Windows RT will a great tablet product (when they fix bits of it, like the settings), and it should have stayed as a tablet OS.

So yeah, not a huge fan.

And this one's coming from a Microsoft employee, too.

If you ask me it felt like they insisted on changing the car's driving controls to something that's different from a wheel and pedal interface which pretty much everyone is accustomed to despite being a century old. I'm also bummed at the fullscreen approach to things as you mentioned, all for the same reasons since I often cycle through notifications, chat messages and other things.

  11. The Metro UI, most especially the start screen, was quite awkward to use on a keyboard-and-mouse interface. I can get away with that by using a Start Menu addon, but at least some apps won't work on Windows 8 - on the beta, that is.
