First Vice City Stories Details from GamePro AU
Chris replied to Chris's topic in Vice City Stories News
Post updated with first detail. BTW JarJar has the copy of the magazine so thank him for the info. Actually he isn't active here, so continue thanking me as normal -
It was constructive criticism, don't take it so harshly. Anyway, I liked the blood effect on your sig, 9/10 for that, but the av just seems kinda random.

6:15 am. I'm so damn tired. And only the subscribers get the mag today, so that narrows it down to only their subscribing readership who are also GTA fans AND visit gta sites... Thing is it sounds as if there's a lot of info... Anyway I don't need lights on, it gets light here around 5am so I can see perfectly well, in fact, I can't actually get to sleep now -

Dude, it's 4am in the morning here in England. I'm tired. Lol. -
The latest edition of Australian GamePro magazine has an exclusive interview with Rockstar. Editor Chris Stead has posted on GTAForums letting us all know about the magazine. We've got scans of it which he has allowed us to post, and we've got details of vital information and new features below. Victor Vance is the main character. Vic is a 28 year old marine in peak physical condition. VCS is set in 1984 and is "much" bigger than Vice City, there are also lots of familiar buildings that we see just entering development. Improved Animations - The animations have been improved massively from the other GTA game. It is now much more realistic and the character's emotions are are more true. New Vehicles - JetSki's for example, are in the game. Vic does have the ability to swim. The game will feature a multiplayer mode similar to that in LCS. New weather effects including hurricanes Less "A-B" missions, more unique style of gameplay New water effects, shower the streets with spray from your jetski. Vice City's radio stations will return with new songs New loading system which means only slight pauses before missions Improved draw distances (again) - better than other titles. Increased density of pedestrians, foliage, cars and objects Less "clumping" (where groups of the same model would appear together) There's a new theme park on Ocean Beach - it includes the "Chunder Wheel" - a large ferris wheel which you can ride on in first person view! Trip Skips return, this is where a taxi appears after you die and can take you back to the start of the mission you were attempting. And the downsides? Well, it is confirmed that Vice City Stories will not feature the following things: Character and Vehicle Customization Wall Climbing Seamless integration of interior and exterior areas (as seen in LCS) will no longer be in VCS Thanks to Jar-Jar at GTAForums for getting this info to us

Definitely gonna be set earlier than Vice City.
-
Ok so we're gonna do our best to get as many people collaborating on this as possible. I'll speak to some webmasters right now, see what sort of response we get...
-
Lol, $100 of ficticious money on the forums here... Someone must have an AR Max drive for this guy surely??? I don't but there's gotta be someone.
-
Yeah we're definitely still in the 80's somewhere, possibly late 70's.
-
I have sorted this out via email with cannibal. Useful mod. Topic Closed.
-
Yeah most people seem to be much more excited about VCS than they were LCS. Just look at the poll on the site, over 63% of visitors have said they're more excited over VCS.

Tonight we can present to you the official box art for Vice City Stories. We can confirm this is real as it's been sent to retailers across the world for their use on product pages, and all the commercial gaming websites now have it. Judging by the Infernus on the cover, it looks just like either a 1978 Lamborghini Countach or 1982 Lamborghini Countach, which to me suggest a late 70's or early 80's setting. Additionally, it appears from the box art that the bikers will be appearing once again, as well as possibly Umberto Robina, the Cuban gang leader. Expect to see many familiar faces in VCS. Stay tuned for more updates and screenshots coming soon.

Indeed. Since the veterans is going to be renamed I'm closing this topic as discussion no longer really applies.

Wow 183mb. Not like the server is running out of bandwidth or space, so as long as I think it's good then sure I'll host it. I don't recall seeing any of your previous vids, are they hosted anywhere where I can get them right now?

^ What happens when Gerard doesn't get his own way. j/k.

I can only think of one other real veteran who doesn't even play GTA I don't think, he never joined after the phpBB forum, he went by the name of ascended_super_sonic... remember him? I'll see if I can find any others. Also I actually agree with Spaz's list there, but while it stays true to the meaning of 'veteran', it does decrease the groups size and lessens the warrant for a veteran forum, as there's not many people who can actually access it and post there etc. BTW what about when we had that crappy ProBoards forum? ROFL how shit was that, those were the real veterans, although I'm pretty sure there was like only 20 members on that, and EVERYONE rejoined when we started on the phpBB one, so I guess it no longer matter, lol I remember that proboards forum though, good times

Why wasn't pyro added though? I swear I made that suggestion in the staff forum, maybe not...

I'm straight.

Welcome to the forums, thanks for joining!

For those who are still interested in this matter, yesterday afternoon Take Two released a statement regarding the Federal Trade Commission inquiry into 'Hot Coffee' and the supposedly inaccurate rating of the game. Take Two and Rockstar are now in the clear, and can now relax and put this whole thing behind them. Thankfully for the company no fines or penalties were made against Take Two. There is a Consent Order and agreement which means that Take Two must not misinterpret a game's rating or content descriptors, and must implement a system to ensure all game content is reviewed in connection with submissions to ratings authorities. Follow the link at the end of this post to read the statement in full. LINK: Take Two Statement

Life's good right now. School's out for summer, or it is tomorrow anyway but I can't be bothered to go in. Instead I'm gonna be with my Dad, helping his former boss do some work on a house he is building, which he will then move into, and sell the one he is currently living in, making around half a million pounds in profit. Lucky bastard he is. He recently bought an Audi TT as well, and he has a villa in Spain. My dad is blatantly jealous too After that I have nothing to do until September. Boring as hell summer I expect.

No we don't because then if they ever come back and find there account is gone they get pissed off and don't register again. And then we get a bad reputation and stuff.
-
Yeah we've wanted this since VC. They should parody the iPod. Perhaps call it an iSocket or something related to an actual eye.

Lol I'm like the only one still in education this week, stupid Sixth Form ends this Friday. I can't actually be bothered to go in on the last day though, absolutely pointless really. I go back on September 8th, 2 days after my 18th Birthday. I have no damn plans for my 18th either, it's gonna be the worst 18th bday anyone's ever had. Probably just go out with family, and go to other peoples parties instead.
