  1. As I'm sure you were aware when we posted yesterday, GamesTM is available today in the UK, and we now have more information on Vice City Stories thanks to their preview. Sea planes and helicopters will be included, this probably includes the Skimmer and Sea Sparrow we all know from the original Vice City Philip Michael Thomas, who voices Lance Vance is "the only confirmed voice talent" at the moment Binoculars will be available at all times, rather than just being available on one or two missions like the camera was in Vice City. Jet skis will have completely different handling to boats, as is expected Different pedestrians will appear at different times of day. For example, you'll see people partying late at night, and bums early in the morning scouring the streets Phil Cassidy is to return. GamesTM say he appears in one of the game's loading screens. The city features enhanced dynamic lighting effects, essentially making Vice City look a nicer place. A brand new Rocket Launcher will be available for your everyday general explosive needs Unfortunately we can't post scans as we'd be breaching the copyright, however, our friends at VCS:PSP have posted some nice high quality ones you can look at for the moment, not sure how long they'll be up though.
  2. Moved to VCS forum. Vice City Stories is set in 1984 so cars will look roughly as they did in Vice City. Much older than in Liberty City Stories. So that Audi you posted won't be in the game.
  3. Here's an array I've drawn up to show what decade I am thinking: 1960's => 2 games - London 1969 and London 1961 mission packs 1970's => none 1980's => 2 games - Vice City 1986 and Vice City Stories 1984 1990's => 3 games - San Andreas 1992, GTA1 1997 and Liberty City Stories 1998 2000's => 1 game - GTA3 2001 2010's => 1 game - GTA2 2013 70's anyone? IMO it won't be in the 70's though, so I've sort of contradicted myself... I'm expecting modern day (2007) to be the year, that brings the 2000's decade up to 2 games.
  4. OMFG it's kokane! *wets self* And we all thought she was dead...
  5. GamesTM, another UK publication, goes on sale tomorrow, and according to Kikizo, Philip Michael Thomas who voiced Lance Vance in Vice City will be returning in Vice City Stories to voice the same character. Thomas became world famous playing "Tubbs" in Miami Vice, the legendary TV series which Vice City drew inspiration from. Amongst other details the magazine gives are the fact that once again gamers will be frustrated by the annoying 'pop-up scenery', whereby objects will suddenly appear when the player is in close range, often resulting in dissatisfaction for unlucky gamer. The magazine also suggests the game will revolve heavily around Vice City's waters. Since the article (like others recently) contains inaccuracies we shouldn't take this as 100% confirmation, but it's a pretty good indication. You can check out Phil's colourful career at his IMDb page. Source: Kikizo
  6. hehe me too, I think, I can't really remember many of my birthdays, or at least what year it was anyway...

Do you still have a problem attempting to download from here? The server may just have been very busy at the time you tried.
  8. Happy Birthday for whenever the day is, and hey, in 5 years time you too can play a GTA game!
  9. Nice vid. I would have thought he'd have used Fraps, www.fraps.com

sucky mods or sucky sites? We do have a rather substantial amount of fantastic mods for Vice City. Most of the other mod sites are European, however for English ones you could try gtagaming.com or gtagarage.com, the latter is user submitted so the hand picked quality of mods you see here for example is not there. Since GTA-Downloads closed down, most English speaking visitors come here for mods.
  11. Nobody has made the obvious connection to Tomb Raider yet have they? Look at the Tomb Raider franchise, it's done pretty well, especially with Angelina Jolie in the movie too. Tomb Raider sells more than it should just because of the female protagonist, who happens to look stunning (as far as pixelated looks go). She has pretty large breasts too, and overall her clothing is pretty revealing. It kinda interferes with the actual gameplay and what you're supposed to be doing, rather than ogling her body. You can get sidetracked for a second and think "wow she's pretty hot considering this is a videogame" IMO a female protagonist would be completely unsuited to a GTA game. If you think about it, the only strong female character we have even seen in any of the games has been Catalina. And I really can't see us playing as a 'bad guy' so to speak. Obviously they're free to introduce us to brand new characters, but still, I just can't see a female protagonist as a realistic option. Excellent discussion point though, nice topic.
  12. Start up the trainer. Leave it running and start up Vice City. Use the key combinations to activate the cheats you want. Sometimes it has problems if you have the Vice City 1.1 patch installed... or if it's not installed, I can't remember.
  13. Certainly not old enough to play GTA , how old are you?
  14. I don't think that's possible in Vice City...
  15. That's when those particular search engine 'spiders' are 'crawling' the site and indexing the pages. Basically, a spider crawls the website, finds updated pages, retrieves the data and stores it in a massive database(s) and indexes it. Then when a user types in some keywords, results are shown to you in the form of links to web pages which contain those keywords. You could probably head on over to wikipedia to find out how search engine spiders work if you're actually interested, or if my very brief overview will suffice then you can carry on posting as normal
  16. Well since we now know who it is, I suppose we might as well close this topic.
  17. Yeah but all it did was make the waves slightly higher and more frequent. Either the magazine talked about this because they didn't realise this in the previous games, OR, the system has been greatly improved, like maybe the waves will actually break, instead of the water just moving up and down. And perhaps they will capsize your boat/jet ski.
  18. The latest UK edition of Official Playstation 2 Magazine has a four-page preview of Vice City Stories. The magazine, available only to subscribers until Thursday, seems to have virtually the same hands-on preview that Australian GamePro Magazine had, which unfortunately for us means there isn't a lot of new info. Two of the screenshots in the magazine are new, and the following information is given to us: One of the SMG's in the game has the ability to have a silencer fitted Two sports cars, the Phoenix and the Stinger are confirmed to return. In a couple of screenshots we can see Vic with a tattoo on his right arm, however, whether or not this is customisable as in San Andreas is unknown. Weather will have an affect on the sea and make it very choppy. So driving boats and jet ski's during a thunderstorm or a hurricane (possibly?) should probably be avoided The screenshots (some of which are the same) are better quality than those printed in GamePro, we'll hopefully have some images to show you shortly, possibly even an official site update soon. Expect a lot of new info then. Thanks to Neil for the info.
  19. Welcome to the forums Ryan!
  20. Sounds good, thanks for letting us know about it. I think is it gtamp.com that already have some sort of GTA2 multiplayer thing going? Good that you're still supporting these classic games though, I may try it out one day soon.
  21. lol, tilly, wtf are you on? What he's saying is that in VCS, Vic may have done something awesome, overthrown gangs and shit, and if it wasn't for him, Vice City would be ####ed. So in the end, him dying in Vice City in 86 isn't all that bad because he has done a good job, so to speak.
  22. Finally we got page 9. Three new screenshots have just been added. There wasn't much info though, apart from saying the damage has been slightly tweaked.
  23. From our poll: "Are you looking forward to VCS, more than you were LCS?" Yes - 66.6% That's 2/3 of the visitors feel that VCS will be better than LCS basically. And I agree.
